Thanks! Because I took a one-week intensive last week (9AM-5PM every day for a graduate-level course), I haven't gotten to write as much as I hoped this month. I'm at ~40K words, which is the length of a short novel in some genres, and I'm not quite halfway through the plot. I'm hoping to end around 100K, and I'm hoping to finish my first draft by August so that I can work on editing and the such for the rest of the year. It's been interesting to write, for sure. When the narrator leaves the castle for the first time, it's really a turning point for everything. The castle where he was held makes it seem like the kingdom is repressive and bleak, but remnants of native customs and a unique appreciation for the supernatural permeate each town they pass through. Honestly, it's kind of cool seeing the story take on a life of its own.

Yeah, it's surreal. Used to have a big ego about how much anime I'd watched. It's not that I've replaced it with anything though, like movies, books, manga, or television. I just do Youtube a lot lately, although that's slowing down for me in the past couple weeks. Might go back to reading.

It makes me especially sad cause I know that anime such as Attack on Titan Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, etc., etc. are all great, or at least known as such, yet I have no desire at all to even try and watch them.

Same boat in regards to going off of anime. I've tried it lately, watching along with JoJo part 4, but I don't have the same enthusiasm I used to. It eventually started to blend together, and I felt like I was done with it. I might go back again sometime with a fresh perspective to finally finish JoJo part 3 and Attack on Titan. Maybe. It feels kind of bad to be outside of other peoples' conversations about anime now that I've been out of the game so long. I used to banter with the best, now I'm silent with the rest. It's a tragic development, but maybe this is just part of my larger weeb story.
    • Zelda Wii U Discussion!

Only now it's been pushed to the end of 2017, does this mean we are getting the One Zelda to Rule Them All?   I hope the NX isn't a garbage gimmick system like WiiU. Fun as hell but when it sells that poorly it makes developers ignore it, which means less games and even less sales, and much less people playing. Maybe having a decent lineup and Zelda as a launch title will bring Nintendo out of their Dark World. Not sorry about the terrible puns, but I am done.   If the dynamic open world they're making is anything at all similar to that of The Witcher 3 I will be a very happy Zelda fan. It'll be interesting to see how this new game feels compared to the extremely linear Skyward Sword.
