Our lives are very short, whether we live 1 or 1000 years. I think it's best that we celebrate and use our lives as we wish, as well as for the good of all. If we spend all our years trying to prolong our lives...is that really a life worth living? What is "life" anyway? Is it the physical act of breathing and interacting on earth? Or is it something much deeper?

There are many on this earth I would consider dead inside.

I have concluded that life is how you use the years you've been given, not how many years you can accumulate.

Yeah, good stuff to think about. I sometimes joke that I've just got to hold out until technological advancements in biological or cybernetic immortality.

I, like many people, want to stay young, be beautiful, live forever, and there's nothing really shameful in that. We're designed to feel that way. We're meant to retain a sense of self-preservation. This is the very reason religion exists at all. But like you said, physical (real) immortality being commercially available would be another way to oppress people. So I think before we can even think of it, we need a way to destroy corruption. When the time comes (because it's definitely going to) we probably won't have everything figured out. But perhaps there might be compromises for that longevity, like restrictions on reproductive rights. But if you're rich enough to get such a procedure, you'll probably be above the law if money is still as important as it is today.

Realistically speaking, I would prefer we have interstellar space travel figured out by then. That way we can at least discover a place for the immortal to go. If humans kept reproducing indefinitely, the current ecosystem would surely be destroyed. As for who among us should be considered wicked enough to die, the cruel irony is that they'd be the most likely to obtain immortality.

I think that time is an insanely precious thing though. I might dawdle a bit more if I knew I didn't have to worry about my fleeting existence, but I think I'd still appreciate that. We're still built to behave like human beings. Plus, nothing will ever live forever. It's important to understand that.

You know what injustice is?  Eric Garner.  That should be the figure everyone is rallying behind for change, but it won't happen till people calm down a bit. Everything is so violent right now, and it's really only making the case worse.

In other news, Saint Louis County Police are investigating possible charges against Brown's stepdad for inciting a riot, what with the whole screaming "Burn this mother puppyer down" shortly before they proceeded to burn that mother puppyer down.

I bought Resident Evil 4 and have been playing it.

I shot a crow and looted a grenade from it's body.

So basically, it's one of those games.

Inigo is just like the best mod.

Like, next time he insults an enemy's clothing, loot the body and make him wear the outfit he just insulted.

He literally has a response to everything except stuff in the DLCs, since the creator's still writing and recording dialogue for them.

The great Christmas Presence comes. This year he will reap the souls of the unworthy, and raise up those who are. Don't bother praying to it, it won't help. We are all just fodder for the great Christmas Presence.

You can spend years learning the subtleties of the human heart, but what will any of it mean if you don't feel it's warmth? There are so many people living to old ages and dying alone and scared. A great number of people spend their lives wasting their time. Every day, wasting our opportunities. We are finite, and every day people die, having willingly let their life slip between their fingers. They lived each day in fear of their lives, until eventually they lost it. No matter how long our lives are, it's all just more time to waste. Are we just filling our lives with useless things until eventually we're dead?

And hey, immortality. My friend says it's a bad idea because "you can't appreciate your life if it never ends", but uhhh, sure you can. Living forever would be a blast. But the downside is, if people could live forever, then only the rich would afford it, and then the rich would keep the privilege of eternal life to themselves. They would reign over mankind forever, and nothing would change. Only the death of the wicked can make way for the good. If we all lived forever, we'd just plateau and settle to one mode of thought and opinion forever. Nobody would be persuaded by each other's arguments, culture wouldn't evolve. It would just plateau. If we all lived 1000 years each, then it would just take longer for things to change. Culture doesn't change with time, it changes with generations of people.

Last night I had a dream that I kept finding Gameboys. It was in a lost-and-found or Goodwill store or something. There was a shelf of random things for the taking. Not sure what it was.

So I found a yellow GameBoy like the one I used to have. And it didn't have a battery cover. Then I found the battery cover. And then I found a red Gameboy with a battery cover. I kept finding near-perfect condition Gameboys and pretty much all the Pokémon games. It was a short and weird dream, and I woke up pretty excited to play them

The thing that I was most excited about was that they all had battery covers on them.

Just here and Tv Tropes, though on there I tend to stick to the Roleplaying forum and Writer's Block. Used to be very active on Bulbagarden forums, under several usernames. Most notably, "I AM NOT A TREE". Which henceforth gave birth to this username and people generally associating me with trees.
  17. なべ liked a post in a topic by Treemotan in Are you gay yet?
My sexuality is quite an odd little thing. Primarily, I identify as being gay, seeing as most of the time I am sexually attracted to women, only incidentally being sexually attracted to men. On the romantic attraction side, I consider myself panromantic. So, panromantic homosexual, with incidental heterosexual attraction. Or, if you really want to oversimplify it, panromantic bisexual.

Which works out well for a certain someone, since instead of his girlfriend getting upset at him for having pictures of boobs or questionable pictures of anime girls on his computer, his girlfriend is actively sending him these pictures. That she may also have on her computer. Among other things.

Where am I going with this.

I really wanna support this but don't know how to confront my parents about it

"Oh hey there's this dating sim where you play as an anime girl and try to romance one of seven YouTubers who coincidentally curse and make sex jokes a lot and you generally wouldn't approve of"
    "..."
"So I can support it right"

Just saying: this is not necessary information. It's a very obvious bias trying to put a criminal in a positive light. I'm just saying. Also "we all know the policeman wouldn't face the consequences" is dripping with bias. It's sopping wet. I guess it's not your job to like, report the news, though.

It sucks that the riots happened, though. It begs for "police brutality", though. The idea is to take advantage of chaos and anger and loot shit and burn shit? Like, I hope they all get rifle butts to the teeth. It doesn't matter what the trigger is for rioting. Is there ever a justifiable riot? The people who stole the phones from the cell phone store- were they just acting irrationally out of grief? I can't fathom how anyone can justify rioting. If you are going to act like an animal, or less than an animal, then you should be treated like one. When people are looking for ANY excuse to rob and loot stuff and incite riots and chaos, can you blame the cop for killing on of them?

And yeah, cops are trained to destroy people with guns. It's not a video game where you take out someone's leg and then strategically plan your next attack. People who always try to give advice on non-lethal shots have never fired a weapon. They've also probably never been in a life-threatening situation. Not saying that this one was life threatening but whatevr

    I hope I don't sound rude in this. :0

Well okay Mr Analytical, thank you for pointing out how natural and obvious it is, but the rest of us not robots are currently shocked by how that creeped up on us and how this new generation was born after the pokemon craze hit and shiza like that. Like, here, here's this imgur thing I just found that sort of illustrates it for those of us who don't do statistics for fun:
