One day soon, the whole world will know what it's like to go eat Italian food.
While the Berserk hiatus is a bummer, it was inevitable. Miura at last graced us with the end of the legendary Boat Arc. I'm super excited to see post-Golden Age arcs finally get animated, even if it's just a new trilogy of movies. A new TV series would be perfect, though. There's no shortage of material for one.

"NBC Universal will unveil the anime's first promotional video at its winter Comiket booth, which will run from December 29-31."
"Miura comments in the magazine that the anime project will depict Guts in his "Black Swordsman" appearance,"
"In addition, Miura will put his Berserk manga on hiatus, with the next chapter coming in "around" summer next year. The manga will also then be published as an irregular series."
    Neat.

Some said this day would never come, that the legends were false. They said Guts and crew would never see dry land again, not in our generation at least. And now the doubters have been silenced, as Kentaro Miura has seen fit to gift us mortals with the end of The Boat Arc. Praise be to Miura!

I'm afraid it's out of my cold, steel hands.

Anyhow, One Punch Man isn't the only anime this season with a theme song by Jam Project. But since nobody cares about Garo, this fact will forever remain a secret.

Have I mentioned how wonderful it is that One Punch Man's opening is performed by Jam Project?

Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans just started, and it was pretty good first episode. Very traditional Gundam first-episode stuff: introducing characters with their factions, naming some of the tech specific to this setting, and starting the conflict off tragically. My only real complaint is that all the info being dumped was a bit much to take in, but I'm sure the next few weeks will clear up things. The music is good, and the animation was gorgeous, especially when the fighting began. This show is set for 50 episodes, and it could drop the ball eventually, but right now it's looking good and I'm excited for next week's episode.

Metal Gear is totally worth getting into. Not only are they fun to play, but it's an amazing experience watching the conspiracies unfold, the odds escalate, cinematography and gameplay improve, and characters develop over the course of these games. You lose a lot when you just hear or read about Metal Gear instead of getting hands on.
As for Phantom Pain, I'm at about 30% completion right now. One of the last things I've done was
and, yeah, this game is that good. It's not even fair to call MGSV a "stealth" game; even though there are occasionally missions that require stealth, it is almost never mandatory. If it gets the job done, that's enough. And even as far as I am in the game, I'm developing new weapons and items that open up new, crazy strategies, and figuring out creative ways to use tech I've had almost since the beginning. Still a ways to go from the end credits, so I'll save my thoughts on story until then.

Deadpool....deadpool...........This is all Daniel Way's fault. One bad writer and people's perception of a character is blitzed. Alright, so deadpool is good. The character at least, at different times either he or his book have been in dire straits content wise. So deadpool was a Rob Liefeld Deathstroke rip off. It was decided after a few appearances that to avoid lawsuits, they would try to make him different. This was done by making him funny, and that's an important keyword, he wasn't just trying to be funny, he WAS funny. Most of his early stories were by Joe Kelly, who introduced a lot of character concepts, Deadpool is an inherently lonely sort of guy, so he kidnapped an old blind woman to live in his house. This seemed a normal thing to him. Another aspect of his humor was he would occasionally break the 4th wall and talk to the audience. He would sometimes do this drastically, telling someone who asked him when the last time they met, "19 issues ago." This wasn't done very often though, so it was always funny. After Kelly was Cable and Deadpool, which was like the perfect buddy cop series. Then we got like, 3 years of Daniel Way, a writer most well known for taking one central aspect of a character and then putting a magnifying glass on it to the exclusion of everything else. So Deadpool became this semi retarded meme machine. At the same time as this Rick Remender was writing a fantastic nuanced Deadpool in his Uncanny X Force. So its not just the character, its the writer. The fact that his skin is all scarred up actually has me optimistic, because in Way's run he just looked like a bald guy.

The last part I've read was 5. Vento Aureo is pretty flawed, but I wouldn't call it remotely boring. It takes a bit to get started, but once the main plot gets going the action absolutely refuses to stop and there is so little down time. I actually wish it had one or two less Stand battles and just some fun screwing around misadventures not unlike part 4. I did like part 5 by the end though, even if it had major problems. The fight against the users of Beach Boys and Grateful Dead is one of my favorites in all of Jojo.

I'd say part 4 is also my favorite so far, but I also have a super soft spot for Battle Tendency.

New Berserk chapter was interesting. Here's hoping these next few actually come out regularly.

Also, I am now watching Gangsta, Gate, and Overlord. I think I'm caught up on the first two and one behind on Overlord. Enjoying them all so far, although Gangsta is definitely the one I've connected to the most.

Is that the game were you play as Raiden (?) and it's like a hack and slash kinda game, as opposed to the normal MGS stealth games? If so Kill la Kill would be perfect for that kinda game like 100%!

Status update- I finished JoJo battle tendencies, Kars is the coolest. I mean all the characters are fairly cliche, and the story is very predictable for the most part, but it's still really charming! Those "faults" may even work in its favor!

So I finished BT, and picked back up where I left off on Stardust Crusaders, and am now just starting the second half, battle in Egypt. I realized recently, that Jojo could easily be considered a horror series just as much as a fighting series. But not in the typical emo anime fashion (like bleach or soul eater) but more in the "weird as puppy Japanese slasher" kinda of sense. thematically it reminds me of stuff like the grudge or the ring or uzumaki. You know, weird scary shit that has "rules" applied to it, like how each specific stand functions to scare you and tear your flesh apart. Lmao it's really fun, my favorite genre mixed with the classic fighting genre, and add a little (a lot) of homoeroticism to boot! It's like this show was made for me. Haha I can't believe I gave up on it before. I mean I can't marathon it past three or four episodes at a time. But it's simple enough to follow while high, but trippy and weird enough to make it worth being high while watching it. Like I said, perfect show for me! Thanks, Eric, for pushing me to get back into it.

Can someone make a Jojo anime thread? I won't use it till I'm caught up on it, but I'm excited to talk to someone about it when I get there. I wish the show was dubbed so I could enjoy it with my irl friends.
