Listening to Santana's self-named album lately, and the song Jingo is super good. So I looked it up on YouTube and there's this live extended version that kinda turns into a different song by the end, but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

The short speech Kamille gives, and the aftermath here, is one of my favorite things in any anime, from my favorite anime. Up to this point,the power of Newtypes usually only manifest itself in the form of precognition and a sort of vulcan mind meld. So when he actually forms constructs outside of his suit, its this huge holy shit moment. And he does even cooler shit later, but here, the combo of the music, Kamille righteous indignation, Life is the Strength, such a cool line, its just awesome
 

 
No subs for this one, but you can glean the idea from the content. This is also one of the great Newtype moments in the show, and the movie versions have this amazing music.

Man, this is such a fun ED. Kekkai Sensen is living up to everything I expected from it and more. (Hopefully that doesn't change in the next eight episodes, but it's Rie Matsumoto, so it probably will stay good.)

Schwarbage

Pokemon BW and BW2 were probably some of the weakest games in the Pokemon franchise, and a lot of the music was pretty average, but the Route 10 track stands out particularly because it's just so magical sounding, like autumn became music. The Smash 4 rendition of this is the definitive version, and it's so fantastic. The accordion, violin, guitar (might have the instruments wrong because i lost my ears in the war rip) all sound so amazing together. Truly a masterful piece.

this isn't even my favorite piece from the soundtrack but I just want to say that I'm a sucker for good classic house music
 

I saw Man of Steel in IMAX back when that came out. Was a cool experience. I'd love to see BvS the same way if possible.

I watched a few but it's too cartoony for me. Like, how is the Penguin living in squalor but he always has a fresh haircut that's perfectly styled?


ALSO I went to the Batman v. Superman IMAX trailer event. There was a message from WB to please not record it. Also Zack Snyder, who I think is a cool guy, asked us not to record it. He said that he wanted to something special for the attendees, so we all got a Batman and a Superman poster (one of each). Other attendees in other states got to pick one or the other. Also, I get a free IMAX ticket to see the movie BEFORE its release. The theater is really cool. It's a planetarium at a museum. The screen is almost too big. Also, the attendees got to see an exclusive cut of the trailer that will never be released. Batman and Superman charged at each other. It was cool.

Anyway, it was fun. Zack Snyder likes his fans and respects the characters/properties a lot. I'm excited to see it

So I just finished To Kill a Mockingbird, and I think it's one of the best books I've ever read.

And I fall deeper down the bottomless hole that is fan-art. Here's an ink and watercolor picture of Bruno Buccellati from part 5 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I loved his design the moment I saw it in the new All-Star Battle game last year, and now that I've ready a bunch of part 5, Sticky Fingers is definitely one of my favorite stands. I wanted to draw him for a while now, but only got around to it late last night on the whimiest of whims. Worked on this for a little over 2 hours, from about 10:30 to 12:30, and I'd say it turned out way better than it had any right to. If I have a major problem with it, it's that it's not my finest line work and I didn't take the time to get the anatomy as good as I could have, but I was on a roll at the time and couldn't stop long enough to think about such things. The pose of the hands is a bit dainty for such a tough dude, but I've seen A LOT of dainty poses in my art history class this semester, and I suspect that leaked a bit into this. Although, I do think the zipper effect on the page is pretty easy to read, and that counts as a big success in my book. I would have liked to do a more dynamic pose (and do Araki proud) but I'll settle for what I got for now.

 
Again, done with a 12-pack of Pentalic watercolor pencils, and also some Yasutomo ink, sharpie, and a micron pen.

My friend Lit'rally five minutes after I did to register for passes, and they sold out.

Maybe I should rename this thread "Agent's Kamen Rider Fan-Art" and stop pretending like I might post a thoughtful, carefully crafted masterpiece here one day. Fine art is for losers anyway! I've got men in tight rubber suits riding motorcycles and making sparks fly off the monster of the week with their foam swords! Truly this is what's best in life.
 
First of all, here's the second form of the angriest secondary Rider, Accel from Kamen Rider W. Quality watercolor pencils feel so good to use. Pretty quick experiment so my lines aren't so hot, but I'm super happy with how the watercolor turned out for how little experience I have. Made this a couple days ago.

 
Next, the two main characters of the same show, who are each half of the titular Kamen Rider W, Philip (left) and Shotaro (right). Was experimenting with using a brush and ink for both the linework and shading because I've been reading a lot of Gundam The Origin lately and am super jelly of Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, and feel like letting my arcane weeaboo energies loose sometimes. I really like how Shotaro turned out, who I drew first, but feel like I could have done a lot better with Philip. To be fair, his hair is kinda crazy to draw in any medium. Drawn a couple weeks ago.

 
And finally, a portrait of Mitsuzane "Micchy" Kureshima from Kamen Rider Gaim. Just drew and painted this for about 45 minutes today from a screenshot I took right beforehand. Again, these Pentalic watercolor pencils are amazing. Now if only my cell phone camera would focus a bit better...
