  1. Definitely! It's so much fun, isn't it? Post pics when you are done. Are you doing a specific style of Link? Color or just traditional green? I'm tempted to try some other variations, like TP or OOT Goron or Zora tunic. Anyway, good luck. The Tunic/hat are super simple... gloves are still in process for me (since I'm back at school with less time and materials at hand)... but I'm thinking if at all buying a decent pair to modify would be easier... but my genious brother and I will come up with something over school break, I'm sure.

  2. Thanks! It's so much fun. I have no problem with risking being considered a dork either, but at least here, I'm guessing, I'm among friends. :) Do any of you cosplay Zelda? I'd love to see anything you've done. Does anyone have any input on a Sheik costume? That's what I'd like to try next.

  3. Okay the breakdown goes like this:

Tunic and Hat: Made out of a $7.95 green queen-sized flat sheet from Wallmart (although I probably have enough left over material to make an entire other one, but dunno exactly how much less a twin size would give you). I used the pattern of an oversized tshirt and lengthened it to have a "skirt". The hat and collar were kind of just a wing-it deal. I used old wrapping paper to make mockup patterns though. Remember to make your hat bigger if you plan to wear a wig under it.

White Shirt: A white mock-turtle neck from Salvation Army, $1.99.

White Pants: Rummaged through stuff in our basement and found white exercise pants, luckily not shiny white.

Boots: $2.99 Suede pants from Salvation Army that I cut the legs off of and modified into "gaters" that pull over my suede shoes (sorta like clunky brown oxfords that I already had). The cuffs were a little annoying. They are held up by rubber string tied under the cuff and held down by their own weight.

Belts: I had some laying around.

Wig: Recycled from my LOTR hobbit costume. Sorry it's not blond. I tried blond, but I make an ugly blond.

Other minor expenses like a few dollars for green thread and a replacement sewing machine needle bc I hit a couple pins and broke one and there you go. It's not as hard as your would think to make it look pretty good. Like I said, more props for the costume are still in the works by me and my bro.

  4. Hey everyone... I'm back online... back at school so I have net with a decent speed at long last. But, you ask, what have I been doing all summer? Well, rest assured, my time has been well spent. Aside from finally completing Ocarina of Time, I have discovered the idea of cosplay. And have spent several days throughout the summer garbing myself as a fairy boy. All for under approx $15. Note: Sorry about the sword... it's Glamdring.... My brother is still making his Master Sword replica.

  5. lol! I love it! man, I wish I could draw that style that well.... I suck at that look in manga/anime....

  6. Oh! Alternate Hyrule! The boss would be someone we know and love, only evil. Probably Shadow Link. we'd get to know him much better and he would be wicked strong.

To me, that sounds like a fanfic... I dunno... I hope they don't really go for too sensational in game, that's for teh fanbase to theorize on and it'd take the fun away if they did it outright...

  7. Whoa! That's seriously, 'mazing! I love it. Poor Lucas! :'( That's wicked good though. TIme well spent (in my opinion) and a pic you can be proud of! With or without background, it's really nice! *applauds* You wouldn't want to draw me some Death Note characters sometime, lol...?

  8. Whoa, you people have really violent dreams. Most of my bloody dreams involve myself dying, not me killing other people though. It always takes me a long time to die, which is stupid and annoying. Usually, though, by the time I die, all my friends have already been killed and I was unable to protect them. I had one where I was the last person alive in this scientific outpost compound and aliens had killed everyone else, and the king alien was going to kill me by cutting my throat with surgical siscors. Over all, my death count in my dreams is very high.

  9. Sweet! Your work looks reeeeally good! Keep at it, because your skillz will just definitely keep improving. :) Way to go for photoshop coloring: that is not easy and takes a ton of patience. So great job and major kudos.

  10. i think the best ganodorf fight would be in twilight princess. twilight pricess has good graphics and you have three battle to ganondorf.

I must say I agree here. It's 4 forms of Ganon, 4x the excitement... lol, like my cheesy sales pitch? Actually, none of the forms were brutal, but they were all really diverse and had their own little key to them. I really liked it. It was also my first Zelda final boss battle, so it holds a special place in my heart.

  11. Wind waker was one of my favorites... I loved the graphics. I don't think it changed the gameplay significantly. And plus... if you've finished it... it's soooo badass!

Ohhhh yeeeeahh!! That's just wicked, one of my favs!! YLA, I hope you can gather your motivation to play through the rest of the game, because it really has it's own style of elements of coolness.

  12. Ehhhh. Midna was an amazing character, but I'm going to have to vote no return of Midna or Twilight realm connection sequel. That would be a lot of copying Twilight Princess and messing up the "neatness" of the TP plot. It would also ruin Midna's character to bring her back as "helper" or basically any form. I also question Link's depression. Sure he's in shock and sad that his friend is leaving forever, but not like he was in love with her (you don't fall in love with some one who has been an imp hiding in your shadow for weeks, months). Plus, he's got his whole world back to normal, I think in the long run, missing Midna is fine, but he's fully able to enjoy his life in Hyrule. I think any direct sequel would be really cheesy... But I guess that's up to Nintendo to prove me wrong.

  13. Destiny/Fate/Triforce magic... give true love a chance! It's her name on the game and he's the main character... Distill it to the "hero saves the princess and they live happily ever after" ultra simple formula and it is obvious lol. The other girls are nice, but they just wouldn't get what Link's been through and they only show up in specific games. Yay Zelink.... but yay for Nintendo not confirming/denying... makes it more fun to leave it vague.

BTW- when did "Zelink" begin as a phrase? It's like one of those cheesy "Brangalina" deals. However, is excused when applied to my fav pairing in my fav game, but still.....

  14. Okay, in game, I would say leave it undefined who Link it with, it allows shippers to ship however they want.... buuuut for my own pairing, I say Link + Zelda. Link + Ilia is also acceptable, though, but for some reason, I tend to see them as childhood friends.

Link+Midna: Idk, I'm just too used to her as a little imp & Link wouldn't want to live in the Twilight world, even if he is good friends with Midna.

Link+Malon: In my opinion, Malon is reeeally dumb (and this parody didn't help my opinion of her)

Link+Saria: Too much of a mother figure almost. Maybe the hair does it, but it's more like Link looks up to her like an older sister.

Link+Ruto: Two harsh words: obnoxious fish.

Of course, then we have others like Tetra and Marin... But in WW, Link is just a kid.... and other excuse against Marin.

  15. OMG! I Love it!!! I would so play that rofl! My friend actually wants to make a game like that, but his preferred title is "Blood Penence".... don't ask. :P

  16. Personally, a futuristic Zelda could be wicked, thought it might end up looking kind FF in style. My friend wants to make a future Zelda game with a Link who wears black not green that is titled "Blood Penance." But I could deal with FF rather than Resident Evil, which is what his chainsaw idea sounds like. Don't worry, if he gets to Nintendo, I'll squash the chainsaw part.
