LL, sometimes your putting down of things like this as a "victim complex" disturbs and frustrates me. Really and truly.

We don't turn back to history or to other nations with corrupt systems and say shit like that. The statistics speak for themselves. The media's distractions speak for themselves. And if you've seen the prosecutor's case, that would speak for itself too. To claim our police force isn't corrupt is just another way you can turn a blind eye to issues and feel superior to those who live under its real, frequent injustices. Like saying racism has been defeated so what are they worrying about?

The water tiles in ORAS aren't so bad! There's a reduced rate of enounters on them and surfing is a lot less tedious, in general. I didn't use repels and didn't encounter that many pokemon to be honest.

lol I splurged £50 on the Wii U Smash Bros today, which apparently came out on Friday a week earlier than it was meant too and I only found out about that today. Good job not being (completely) awful to Europe for once Nintendo. So why not get it I figured. Better not be as unfun as the 3DS version is! And they didn't have any Peach Amiibos so I was a little bit disappointed. Who on earth wants a Mario one??? It's like all the shop had lmao freaks

this is such a weird (but extremely appreciated) coincidence I literally just started a new run of Majora's Mask yesterday. Nintendo knows what I've always wanted clearly!

so yeah just don't bother making anymore Zelda games Nintendo I can die happy now that the my absolute favourite, the best one, is finally getting a remake. I don't care that I've already bought this game like four times you will be getting all of my money once again. Congratulations

(please discuss now what you'd want to see added/changed in a MM remake so you can be inevitably disappointed when they unsurprisingly change nothing.)

Yeah, same with me, this is the only forum I've joined where I've actually stuck around longer than a week. Not really sure what made it so different from any other forum I've joined at the time. Maybe how less "taking-the-forum-concept-way-too-seriously" this place was compared to other ones I've tried? Pretty sure I joined just as this place was starting to slowly die. Oh and the whole somewhere-to-be-your-actual-self unimportant nonsense as well I guess.

But yeah, pretty much trapped in unhappy marriage to this forum at the moment. I've sadly made that choice already. Gotta stick all the way through with it.

This has surely got to be the #1 most awkward thing to use when playing the game full volume. The great fairy has always made me uncomfortable.

I'm not sure which is worse; the objectification or weaponizing of women.

Talking magical dragons and time-travelling experiments-gone-horribly-wrong are realistic? I want to live where you live, apparently in a 90's game.

Majora's Mask is my top favourite Zelda game, which in a way you could call the most realistic Zelda game? Not in a "anything-in-this-plot-would-be-remotely-feasible" way, but in how human-like and emotional the NPCs and their reactions were to the apocalypse during the course of the three days. It's really subtly portrayed and I wish more games could incorporate that feeling into their stories and worlds. More than anything else (gameplay, story, graphics etc, but for me these are all done very well in MM), it's the world MM is set in that makes it my absolute favourite Zelda. Rather than "everyone exists to do nothing apparently except to do the two-second thing they do the only time you talk to them" in most games.

Wind Waker and A Link Between Worlds are my other top three favourites. Which are definitely in the more cartoonish realm. But I think that style works a lot better for the series rather than Twilight Princess' style. I mean, Wind Waker is the most cartoony and it definitely has one of Zelda's more... subtle plots? It's kind of a downer of a story. Heart-string tugging wise. Hidden among the living cartoon and mostly-super saccharine characters. I really liked that a lot about WW. Alongside the wonderful selection of NPCs and fun overworld to explore. I dunno, I mean, each to their own but I don't feel like most people who don't like the graphics of WW don't really try to give it a chance anyways? They just immediately decry it as 'kiddish'. it's a lil' bit immature really. God the memories of the total outrage when Wind Waker was first revealed still make me laugh.

Twilight Princess is a good game on it's own, but I feel like it's a little bit of a let-down for a Zelda game. They focused too much on trying to appeal to the Western fanbase, who at the time were very unbearable on the graphics front. Which I feel led to a huge focus on WHOA YOU CAN FIGHT ON HORSEBACK NOW. WHOA YOU CAN BECOME A BADASS WOLF WHO RIPS MONSTERS THROATS OUT. WHOA EVERYONE IS ANGRYYYYY AND SERIOUSSSS and the gameplay kind of suffered for it. I still enjoyed it overall, but my main complaints are that the story is a bit "What the hell was the point of anything?", all the interesting new items (spinner. spinner is the major offender here) were never used outside their dungeons, and the world design was just. not as interesting and inviting to explore as much as the other games? Maybe because it was far too large? Hyrule Field should not be like twenty sections lol. The NPCs weren't anything interesting really... I only remember Agitha (thank GOD she is remembered via Hyrule Warriors I gotta buy that game sometime). And the yeti couple. Who else was important again. But yeah, not saying TP isn't allowed to be your fave, just that personally it failed for me because it, in my opinion, strayed a lot from what makes Zelda, well, Zelda for me.

And TP kind of bombed in the Japanese market anyways because it was too gritty-looking. So Nintendo is probably going to stick with the more successful cartoony artstyle anyways. SS is probably the best you're gonna get with mixing the cartoony with the realistic. Or Hyrule Warriors. because damn that is a beautiful-looking game.

I think this is the most words I've ever written about Zelda since like. the day I joined this forum lol. Oh how the time flies.

In the original Zelda game Link was called "Top Lad". It was meant to be set in a 'forever young' housing estate in London, where nobody truly 'grows up', because they're all just in and out of jail, and every time they get out they're making up for lost youth by getting up to their same youthful antics. The deku tree represented Top Lad's unwillingness to leave his friends; lost souls destined to live their youth delusion forever. The deku tree now dead, the Top Lad could escape to follow the true way. So he went out and found God. He eventually returned to the estate years later to find his young love Saria, still drunk and playing slot machines like she was when he left. Always acting the big sister, but she's was just as lost as the rest of them.

Navi was his will to live, and when he saw his home in such a state, she began to wither and die, and so Top Lad had his existential crisis. Who am I? Where did I come from? Am I the only blooming flower in a desolate land? Am I a blink on the screen? In his search for identity he puts on many guises. He goes over his life at least four times, and in that introspection he finds his true self, and that true self keeps his depression from crushing him.

But then they made it a fantasy game instead.

    RIP Top Lad.

I got PPSSPP downloaded onto my computer and a functioning english patch of DR1! I want to play it, but first I want to learn how to stream so I can play it with cascade watching. And I also want to learn how to stream so I can stream my very first ever run of DS2, whenever I get around to buying that off steam.
