Maaaay be getting a new job in the following week... going in on Wednesday for a final interview and to see what a typical shift would be like at this little shop. Seems like a nice place. Has a better pay and more hours than my current job. And (thank god) a monthly rota instead of a shitty weekly rota! And the owner is really friendly and chatty and doesn't suck at management from the looks of it like my current boss does! It sounds ideal for me. Really hope I get this ;-; I'm so tired of everything about my current job it's unreal. I have to work tomorrow and it's just. Blehhhhhhhhh. But anyways this is the happiness thread so gotta stay positive! 

Good deal. What kinda place? When you say little shop, I think a dusty old curio shop. And like, there's a mogwai, or some ancient magical statue... My imagination gets carried away just thinking about the prospect...

Also, the fact you can raise a virtual pet in this game is super adorable, when you get a pig Monomi or a snake Monomi for example. Sweeeeeeet. But sometimes you get shit like this...
 

 
I cannot believe this is an actual thing you can do in this game. I left my pet rabbit wallowing around in it's own shit for ages and it decided to respond by growing up into a literal pile of shit. puppying amazing. This is in the last chapter as well, heading to the final class trial, PET NOTIFICATION blares at me, I see this. Really sets the atmosphere! Beautiful. /tear

Yeah, like literally 10 minutes after I posted it, a post from a tumblr pal on my dash appeared and was like, "I'm glad this scan says "I will eat bullshit" in Japanese on it." Don't know how accurate that is, but lol. yeah, that combined with the other stuff you said. definitely fake! so disappointing. It's by far the best mega design... could've had it all nintendo... /tear

I'm not saying that because this girl just as bad, if not less bad than what we're used to, that corruption in widely-influencing industries shouldn't anger us. Yes, it should anger us. But everyone is clearly getting angry over a completely unrelated thing and contorting it to be the main point. Should you be mad that gaming journalism will accept bribes of that nature? Yes. Should you be mad that Zoe Quinn supposedly had sex separately with five people while in a relationship? Sure, if that's what sets you off. But you shouldn't use anger over gaming journalism as a cover to reinforce a double standard. It's also really annoying that the "Internet Aristocrat" claims that things like these are why gaming journalism has been full of feministic articles lately, as if that just completely invalidates any point the articles might make. Don't get me wrong, I think Particia Hernandez is a pretty horrible journalist in this regard, but he didn't mention that writers like her lack integrity, just that the articles are feminist, implying they're bad. And he says we're supposed to support "things we like" (as in, things he likes that he thinks we should all like) and emphasizes that Zoe Quinn's game is about depression, as if that just makes it inherently inferior and uninteresting.
 
What I'm saying is yes, we should be mad that gaming journalism has such low standards for bribery. I mean, sex isn't something that lasts you more than a day unless you're some kind of superhuman. Yes, we should be angry that gaming journalists accept bribes at all. But we should not in the least be hung up over Zoe Quinn. Here are my reasons.
 
1) She is not a multi-million dollar corporation. She is a single person trying to make a living.
2) She did it to promote a game that will not make her a millionare.
3) There are corporations that get away with this stuff all the time. We should be mad at them, and the gaming journalists who accept their bribes.
 
This won't make people boycott Kotaku, or IGN. It's not just going to make people boycott Zoe Quinn. It's going to make people harass her and exacerbate the situation, when she is not even the big bad here. She is one wrongdoer out of many, and she does not have the financial means or the know-how and connections to cover this up, and being a regular single person, she probably doesn't have the grit to stand all this pressure. She's just one, normal person who did a lot of things wrong and got caught.
 
Why should we propagate the idea that exposing Zoe Quinn is going to make anything better? It's not going to do shit. It's going to make people hate Zoe Quinn, with a little attention drawn to gaming journalism. This shouldn't be called the Five Guys incident, it should be called the One Guy At Kotaku Who Got Zoe Quinn's Game Attention, because he's the main instigator, isn't he? The one guy who made this related to gaming journalism? It's just called the Five Guys saga because they're all tied to Zoe through sex. We are getting mad at the person getting the benefits, not the people giving them out, and I can assure you that it is because she is simply a woman who had sex to get ahead.
 
Nathan Grayson's name should be on this incident, and even then it wouldn't call out the larger problem at hand.

I saw that video by the Quinnspiracy theory, and it's maybe like 20% okay and the rest is mostly garbage.
 
The most annoying thing is that he emphasized that she slept with her boss, who is a married man. Her boss is both in a position of superiority, and has more to lose, because he is married. He is the scummier person in that transaction. She didn't force anyone to have sex with her. He also never once mentioned that people pay money to bias gaming journalism as well, or that doing so is just as scummy. He even suggested that gaming journalism has come to the point where all that matters is who sleeps with who. Yeah sorry, IGN is a lot of things, but I'm sure it's not a brothel. To me, that shows he really is more "concerned" about her "moral fidelity", and goes to show that people complain when women have sex, period. Most of that video is not about gaming journalism, it's about her tactics and why he thinks they're horrible. This shouldn't be any different from the other clearly biased game reviews pumped out by gaming journalism, which we've known for years is easily manipulable. It pisses me off that this is what gets us riled up about how stupid gaming journalism has become.
 
Like sure, she did some stupid stuff, but she's not the only one who pulls these stunts. Everyone's just pissed because it involves a woman having sex to get ahead.

Honestly, I don't associate anyone here with any type of music. At least not in the way Teto is talking about. I listen to a lot of music that makes me feel a lot of different things, but non of you come to mind when I listen to them. Cascade maybe fits the bill a bit for some of the music I love. Cascade's internet persona, to me, is very *hotel heiress* *prima donna* *rich bitch* with a a healthy dose of LGBT flare, which is the formula for the perfect being. (Not saying she's perfect, she just has the makings of perfection- the potential) So here are some songs that embody that. Yesterday, I very stupidly managed to knock my laptop onto the floor when I forgot it was on my lap when standing up. This is the result:
 



 
Super pretty, right? The screen slammed shut onto the keyboard as it landed, so I guess the screen couldn't tough it out through THAT. Luckily, after a few hours of... it doing something, I think it was trying to recover files? it turned off, then when I turned on it seems everything is working fine? Just the screen is broken. Having an HDMI port on your laptop so you can connect it to the TV to use as a temporary screen is only now coming in handy! So, technically, I can still use it... which is better than having it damaged so much I lose all my stuff on here. But yeah, screen's pretty ugly I have to say! But also luckily my laptop is covered under home insurance, so they're going to pick up my laptop on Monday to take away and see if they can fix the screen. Or if they can't, send me a new laptop! All for only £50. Sweet. (o:

I just feel so dumb though, only I could manage to forget I had a laptop sitting on my lap, and manage to drop it in a way to cause THAT to happen. Pretty ridiculous, and it's a bit lame having to sit right next to my TV just to use it, but I'll take it over losing everything forever. And it made me save all my important files into my sister's external hard-drive anyways, and actually go through and delete pointless things that should've been deleted ages ago. Maybe this was actually a blessing in disguise. Either way I'm still a twat :V Today I (re-)learned...

really though since they are biased towards Kirby, I totally thought of a neat idea for one of the Assist Trophies from the series (they are still in this one right). The painter girl from the N64 game, uh, Adelaide? Something like that? Double can correct me if he checks this thread. She had a cool gimmick of being able to paint anything and have it come to life, and gimmicks are the lifeblood of Smash Bros! SO. it'd totally fit in. it'd be random whatever she painted like, any of the items, hordes of dumb kirby monsters that attack you. etc etc. It'd be cool is what I'm saying.
 
Also, returning characters I'd care to see return: Jigglypuff, Ice Climbers, ROB. Maybe Ness/Lucas (not both though, if they're just going to be clones again) as well I guess Mother needs someone there to quell it's loud fans... I feel like if they brought Ganondorf back they'd probably manage to make him even worse than before, somehow. Other than those three though I wouldn't really be that miffed if none of the remaining "legacy characters" made a re-appearance. The current roster is pretty varied anyways.

Yeah, I know, I can't believe they put the actual best character from TP in this game either. I'll be getting it for sure now. I was so MEH on this game when it was first announced, but the character roster is just awesome. I gotta get it nooooow

 
Oh, don't get me wrong, this isn't like, the first ever time I've dropped my laptop and it was SUDDENLY DESTROYED or something. I've dropped it plenty of times before. This time it was just a particularly nasty drop. And also the last straw for my laptop I guess lol. My clumsiness was going to catch up to me eventually :V
