I guess my biggest temptation is the beckoning call of being lazy, apathetic, and depressed. Highschool for me was like an endless pit of apathy, because I kept telling myself I would probably just end up committing suicide, and that made me not really put value on anything I was doing. I pretty much hit rock bottom sophomore year, I was so depressed that I'm pretty sure I had what I would now describe as mild psychosis. I started seeing things, like blood dripping down walls, or brief flashes of corpses everywhere when I was walking through crowds of people at school, and even started self-harming. I brought myself out of it after a while, mostly through comparison to some friends I had that were even worse. Like this one guy I knew (who was a little odd to begin with, I'm almost certain he had Antisocial Personality Disorder, and I have plenty of other stories of him) slit his wrists and painted a mural on his bedroom wall in his own blood, and then showed us pictures and the huge scabbed over cuts on his arms. And then when my parents found out that I'd been cutting (this was like 6 months afterward, and the whole rock bottom phase didn't last for more than 3 or 4 months) I got sent to a counseling program and everyone there was either covered in scars, incredibly aggressive all the time, or a nervous wreck. The only thing I could think the whole time was that I really didn't have it nearly as bad as them, and that I was honestly lucky to be where I was. I think the final straw was when my girlfriend in junior year broke up with me because she felt guilt-tripped by her abusive, suicidal, schizophrenic ex boyfriend. She got back with him for a week, and all her friends ostracized her because he was a massive jerk (and they were kinda too) so she broke up with him, and then tried to kill herself. I spent about 3-4 hours at like 1 am trying to talk her out of it, probably the most stressful moment in my life.

So after having my head thoroughly puppyed by years of this kind of shit, I basically shut myself off from negative people for 6 months, and kinda had a little journey to find my identity. I discovered that I was (at least) bisexual when I developed a crush on a boy in my art class, and I kinda started to just open my mind up and throw out any preconceived notions I had of who I was. I started to remember a bunch of things I had repressed from my childhood - mostly feelings about my gender. When I was probably 9 or 10 (I had insomnia problems even then) I would always pass the hours lying in my bed before sleep by coming up with a little world in my head, of inventions and ideas and stuff that I wanted to make. I remembered that for years, I had had this recurring dream about a metal-detector type thing that I had built that would spontaneously swap my gender whenever I walked through it - and then I would have the rest of the dream as a girl, doing whatever the dream had me doing. It was like this little gateway to happiness, kinda sappy and weird, but i was a little kid, an only child, and that was just the kind of thing I did to entertain myself. Anyway, after remembering all this stuff, it really didn't take long for me come out to myself. Repressed memories are weird like that. You just remember them, and *poof*, epiphany.

After I came out to myself and started taking steps to transition and accept myself my depression got 100 times better, and honestly, apart from school-related stress, this is one of the happiest times in my life.

So anyway I know that story kinda took a weird turn away from the topic but I just needed to write it all down I guess.

I'm sure there's actually some stuff in there that I've never told anyone before, but whatever, its no big deal. Its weird, but after a certain point in transition I kinda just started to disassociate from my previous identity and memories, and I don't really care if people know about stuff that happened to old me. Like I still remember, but its as if they're someone else's memories implanted into my head.

Either that or I'm actually a clone.

I DO HAVE A HANDY HUGE BOOK OF SUDOKU PUZZLES SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO ME

I just trying to think off how I could spruce up the action a bit. Like maybe allocating who in a pair gets to choose the Ally/Betray option in the Ambidex Game depending on their performance in the puzzles, or if they got certain items. Oh man maybe I could make items for each room that you would have to search and find out in the room, and they gave you cool benefits, like making your opponent's vote default to ally without their knowledge. or weapons to kill players of your choosing with.

AND MAYBE there could be conditions each character would have to fulfill before they could open the Number 9 Door, like find this thing in this specific room. And teams would have to unanimously agree to a room to go through in the later Chromatic Doors sections. guys. guys I have so many ideas i'm going to be up all night writing this game holy SHIT. I WILL. MAKE THIS A THING.

If I was in charge, I'd send every new user who joined and was active and regularly posting for at least two weeks some delicious fried chicken. that'd be incentive to stick around right.

alternatively, make people actually read the rules of new forum games instead of immediately deciding they're too busy for it even though it won't actually require any more time than the time you spend online everyday anyways. HMMMM WHO AM I TALKING ABOUT

    End of Day 3

In a quick change of opinion, the crowd suddenly pointed their fingers at Celeb Ithil! Slowly, they backed him into a corner, weapons in hand. In a panic, he let his disguise slip for only a moment, showing the town what they wanted to see all along. After a short bit of clubbing, we discover that he was...

Congratulations, you found one of the wolves! How many more are left? Time will tell.

Can Ammonsa just stayed subbed for EDA permanently lol. I trust her being more active than EDA will ever be. Sorry dude. :/

And yeah, I agree with LL. Nothing is going to get done at this rate. I wish we hadn't become so apprehensive to EVER lynching in these games. I mean, how else is the town supposed to get anything done and win with that logic. THEY MIGHT POSSIBLY BE A TOWN well yeah fine that level of pickiness is fine when the game is nearly ending and lynches are vital. But it's Day 3, we still have a fair amount of players left, so if we accidentally lynch a town, okay that sucks, but town can still recover from it in the long run! And if we just ignore and leave inactives around, the game is just gonna slow down and get stale. Can we just get something done? Instead of sitting around twiddling our thumbs as bait for the wolves. Celeb Ithil

Although I'd personally love to see a Linox lynch instead. But he's active. So yeah. Sorry Silver, you're way too quiet though.

    wut wut in the butt.

Zeldanig, you may not have intended to be offensive with your name but some people obviously are going to take offense.  It would be pretty cool if "nigger" or similarities were not associated with the negativity and hate that came to be associated with them.  Sadly we do not live in this world because assholes like to use words to convey an idea of hatred and spreading of pain.  The word isn't the problem, it's the ideas that have been tied to them.  This is very unfortunate but that is our inheritence from our shitty forefathers.  We need to keep that in mind with what we do now as we will be leaving things for the young people of the future such as yourself and your kids some day.  Be cool.  Please just relax and pick another cool name that you feel at home with. Even if you disagree with Saha I hope you can see that he has good intentions and really cares about this place and is trying to do his best to keep this a good place.

All in all I don't understand what other reason there was put "nig" in your username aside from the racial connotations of it. I doubt it was really derived from niggling :/ You know it would be interpreted as nigger/nigga, you know it would offend someone, you know it can possibly paint a bad first impression of yourself? Why do people jump so hard on the WELL I WASN'T OFFENDED SO WHY DO THINGS NEED TO CHANGE TO ACCOMMODATE THOSE WHO COULD BE OFFENDED BY IT TOUGHEN UP argument on the internet?

In general, (and this is not directed at zeldanig btw) why do people even use nigger/nigga to greet/refer to each other anyways. Like. what is the actual reason or need. apart from looking sOoOo EdGy. I just don't understand the point? It just makes you look like a bit of a prick to me so why would you. use it.

As long as new user gets to choose his new username. Then I think the right thing was done at the end of things.

This is less embarrassing and more "interesting to know" but: my aunt (who i always thought was my mum's youngest sister) is actually my mum's oldest sister's child, who she had when she was 16. Nobody knows who the real father is except my aunt (as in mum's oldest sister). Being from a very Catholic family, my grandparents took the baby and passed her off as their own kid. I think my mum and my uncle (madre's younger brother) didn't even find out the truth until they were in their twenties? I think. I didn't find out til I was like 15. So she's technically my cousin. Although I still call her my aunt due to 15 years of thinking that she was lol. And also technically makes me an aunt to her two bratty sons ._______. so weird to think about.

Also interesting: aunt/cousin's birthday is on Christmas Day. Which is kinda cool but also kinda rubbish at the same time.

Oh also! one of my uncles was admitted to a mental hospital for a few months when he was 16. he's never had a job and lives entirely off government benefits due to this. also has a habit of repeating the same stories from his teenage years at every family gathering lol. it's gotten to the point where everyone jokes that it's like we've actually been there and lived it because we've heard the stories like 100x times and more. so silly

I think everything's been said that can possibly be said by both "sides". This is probably not going to get back on-topic now. I'm locking this. If everyone wants to continue this discussion then take it to PM, thanks. Zeldanig, if you want to get a username that you've chosen for yourself, ask Saha or another admin via PM. I do hope you stick around, though.

I don't take offense to "nig" or "nigga". And this is a rare occurrence, that we have someone like you who starts something like this, because yeah, you started it, and no, no one is ganging up on you. Most of the people talking here support you, and I'm here to say you're just causing problems and being unreasonable about something that from this certain context, is a reasonable moderator action. The reason new users get scared off is because a few of our users hassle them if they think they're not mentally developed enough to hang out with the "in crowd", posting in RPs or making dumb-sounding posts. But they're not offensive, they're just dumb posts made by young users. We're intolerant of new people when they don't fit the apathetic, inflammatory sense of humor we have, and unfortunately, that's gone unchecked, and I've felt bad for it.

So imagine my reaction when I see everyone actively praising a guy because he's got a controversial name that could be taken offensively, and then turning around and defending that same person under the notion that his name doesn't have any bad intentions. We have a user named Fagdraig!, and that's gone unchecked too, and I still want him to change it, so the next time I see him around, I'll probably talk to him about it. "nig" IS short for "nigga", and I know, because I live near EAST SAINT LOUIS. Do you really honestly expect people to interpret it any other way? Do you think people commonly use words like "niggardly" or "niggling" and contract that to "nig"? "You should really stop nig. him"? I'll be honest, I gave you the benefit of the doubt that your name might be foreign or something, which is why I asked about your username origin in the AMA thread, but you've proven that you know what it is and you're steadfast in causing drama over something this petty. If you want a name change, respond to my PM. That's it.
