Well, yes. Over-aggression, the need to lead. These are all traits of a straightforward heterosexual man. So yes, he does meet the exact requirements for being considered a straight man, and is lumped in with the majority of them, although his actions were quite a bit more aggressive, it shows his love of anger and pain, which, although they might not admit it, nearly every straight man has enjoyed in some point of his life.
