Dying to Live: A Cade Foster Mystery

Cade Foster opened his eyes. He hoped that he would have magically transported back to his home, to his bed so he could stare into the eyes of his beautiful wife but alas he was in his hotel room. He sat up and pulled open the blinds exposing his room to the morning light. Far below he could see bathers frolicking through the warm water of Miami Beach. After a quick shower he got dressed, in a rather light suit and grabbed his Cascade PD shield and pinned it to his pocket.

As he walked down to the lobby he thumbed through a thick folder labled "Dade County Demon".

"Who thinks up these names!" he said to himself.

He left the lobby where a Miami/Dade Police Hummer was waiting.

"You the guy I'm supposed to meet?" the sharply dressed detective asked.

"Yeah I'm Cade Foster you CSI Wolfe?" Foster asked.

"Yeah call me Ryan, where to?" Wolfe asked.

"Take me to see Horatio Kane."

Chapter One: CSI Miami hates Psychics

Ryan pulled up front and Foster got out.

"That him H?" Erik Delco asked as the young blonde cop exited the car.

"Yes Eric I believe it is." Kane said.

"Do we really need this guy, I thought we never listen to psychics!" Delco asked.

"Some say he's the real deal Eric, he foiled a presidental assassin, saved a kidnapped kid and stopped a terrorist attack on a plane besides we could use all the help we can get."

Foster opened the doors and walked to Kane, who was waiting with his hand out stretched.

"Lt Kane it's a pleasure to meet you sir." he said shaking Kane's hand.

"Nice to meet you sir." Kane said.

"Please call me Cade or Foster but never Cadence." he said

"Your name is Cadence?" Delko asked.

"Yeah my mom, got rest her had a quirky sence of humor Mr. Delko."

"How'd you know my name, spirits tell you that?" Eric asked.

"No your ID did, but now that you mention it..."

Foster closed his eyes, them opened them to see a beautuful woman standing next to both Kane and Delco.

"There's someone with us right now." he said.

"Where?" Kane asked.

"Between you two, she seems to be connected to you both. She's very beautiful but her eyes are sad."

"Stop!" Delco shouted.

"Don't you dare cold read me!" he added.

"I assure you I'm not like the phonies you see on Oprah and Maury. I'm a cop to alright." Foster said sternly.

"Would you like to see the body now?" Kane asked.

"Sure where is he?" Foster asked.

Kane showed Foster to the Morgue while Delco and Wolfe stayed bshind.

"That him?" Callie asked walking over.

"Lord he's cute." she added.

"To bad he's married." Wolfe said.
