A Diamond bigger than the Earth

you know, I've been thinking about evolution and all that. why did we choose to use oxygen and water as our life source? It doesn't seem to make sense. Theres so little oxygen on our planet, and its only renewable if there are trees. why didn't we go with something more like dirt? Which I guess is me asking why we dont have our own photosynthesis. Sure we'd probably use the same system of two life forms keeping each other alive, but theres more dirt on earth, and its less easy to destroy than air.

The anthropic principle.

I thought the anthropic principle was more philosophy.

Rather, speculative theory.

We are here to observe the universe, therefore the universe exists. If we weren't here to observe it, then it wouldn't exist.

That sort of thing.

for the most part I think so.

I was just speculating, I mean, how long have we been here if evolution is true? some bajillion odd years? Yeah itd be hard to inhale dirt, but I'm sure if we started trying that long ago we'd be pretty good at it by now.
