Vincent listened when Darius said that they were both ready, and nodded when he suggested that they should stay together. To help, he kept his bow ready in case they should encounter any troubles along the way. He didn't place an arrow on the string just yet, mainly because they were still considered in Hyrule Castle Town. Back at Kakariko, he would practicae a lot, and though he has a decent shot average of 3/5 successful shots, he's just a bit afraid of missing his target from time to time.

((:embarrassed: Sorry about that.))

They continued southward, walking down through the grasslands and eventually into the Faron Woods. It was getting dark, however, and it was evident that they'd need to camp out soon.

"So this is Faron Spring, eh?" Darius asked retordically, standing with his arms crossed in front of the spring.

"As much as I'd love to camp here, Ordon isn't far off. It shouldn't be too late once we get there, and besides, it just turned to nightfall not too long ago. We'll make it in time to get that nice reception we probably all want."

With that, they kept walking onward to Ordon. Once they arrived a half hour later, they were greeted by a man who went by Wrin.

"Are you the adventurers the explorers requested?" Wrin spoke with clarity from a distance, holding up a torch to reveal the trio.

"That would be us," Darius responded with equal volume.

"Then welcome! We've been preparing for your arrival. Please, follow me."

Darius turned to his friends, shrugged, and walked on.

They were led past a group of small houses that went around in a circle and had a treehouse that seemed to be the center-point of this circle. Continuing down a path, they went to the next section of town, which had a number of small houses bordering a lake on the left, a chain of houses at the top of a hill on the right, and two large houses further down the path. One on the left, the one that they were being led to, must have been an agricultural home, made evident by the pumpkins growing outside.

So they're going to feed us, Darius thought. Amazing.

It was unknown what the house on the right was.

They were led into the house and treated to a wonderful meal of mutton and pumpkin pie. They all chatted and enjoyed their time in the hours to come before they finally had to rest.

Name: Ulia

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Race: Hylian

Appearance: Shoulder-length, dark brown, wavy hair, average height(5ft.9"). Green eyes. Wears the common style of garb in Ordon, with different layers draped over and stitched together to form a unique style of clothing found only in Ordon.

Weapons: Long/Broadsword

Personality: Aspires to be much more than a simple farmgirl, dreams of glory, riches, and the love of the people. Never backs down from a fight, sometimes believes that the ends justify the means if the ends lead to a favorable outcome to the majority. Tends to act on her own without the approval of others(especially elders). Kind and affectionate towards her friends, hateful towards her enemies.

Home: Ordon Village

Bio: Has been raised up by Ordon goat herding, pumpkin farming and sword training. There's no doubt she has an adequate amount of strength. She's been caught several times trying to leave for Castle Town, and has been scolded every time. Her extensive training in swordplay that she's received over the years has been one of her most prized possessions, but has been looked down upon by elders as a motivation for her attempted escapes. There's not really much more history to her, but she's always told them when they caught her that she was meant for more than this simple village, and she has always firmly believed it. With her full adulthood coming soon, there's no doubt that she'll finally find out if her words were true.

------------------------------------------

Ulia watched the adventurers as she tended to them, bringing them food or whatever they wanted. There was much more to her servitude than her simply doing her job, however. She knew that this group was headed into the forest, and that she could easily get out with them tomorrow. This would be her big break, finally a chance to leave this farm and be who she's always wanted to be.

The adults around her were keeping a close eye, however. They knew exactly what she was planning. it was obvious to anyone who was familiar with her.

They weren't going to stop her this time, though. They've held her back as long as they can.

Vincent rode alongside the group, all the way to Ordon instead of stopping by Faron Spring like he expected. When they arrived, he saw that the village was certainly larger since he was last there, noticably anyways, and was also surprised of the welcoming party which was arranged. He was certainly not expecting it, and after having his stallion put somewhere to be watched over, he went with the others into a house. He smiled and took a place to sit, but he didn't eat a whole lot, yet he did drink quite a bit. He didn't get too drunk to be completely out of it, but his eyes watched one of the girls who were tending them.

She might not've been seen as someone who was different than most of the girls of Ordon, but Vincent saw something just a little different about her. It was her eyes mainly, as they were filled with a bit of determination about something, but he just wasn't too sure about what it was about. Deciding not to wake up with a hangover, he stopped drinking and went to bed, waiting for day to arrive.

From in a corner of the room, Kira watched the travelers coming into the house. Waited as she saw them be tended to and their every whim given to them. She had lived in this town long enough to regain her confidence and she was certain of where they came from. Though her job in this house was to clean, she'd find a way to show them that they should take her along with them. With that thought set in mind, she continued cleaning while the travelers went to rest.

A boy of seventeen, bound with rope to the tree. His eyes taped shut and lips stitched to a smile. Sniveling in his cowardice, he hung, strapped by the body to the oak. Shivering as the cold set in and the footsteps drew closer, the glint of the moon catching the tip of a toe. Crisp air brushed through his hair, across his face, a wind struggled to push him back. Nature could not stop him. A gun. He pulled it from underneath folds in his princely silk coat. The click of a bullet into the barrel, the last he's ever seen.

A tear rolled down his cheek and the clench of his finger on the trigger struggled to fall away. It wasn't right. He knew his finger wasn't strong enough to pull. I am not a killer.

Alas. Nature could not stop him. Instinct could not stop him. He closed his eyes tight, there was nothing else to be done. The shattering sound that throws birds from trees, makes mothers cry in vain, tears innocence from an unsoiled soul. Defying all worldly forces was the price to pay for power.

Gasping, he opened his eyes, the carriage trundled along. A rock in the road had brought him back. Sighing, he shook himself upright. He glanced out the back at the guards with the caravan. They're still alive I see. Very good, I wouldn't want the goods to get damaged after all. He rubbed his thumb to his index finger and inspected his nails through narrowed eyes. They were as clean as they had been from the moment he sat down to rest. Everything was fine. He was in order and so was his stock.

He looked out across the landscape. They were back in Hyrule finally. Next stop was sure to be soon. He leaned forward and addressed the driver, "Driver, when are we to arrive at our destination?"

"Ah, we'll be landing in Ordon come sundown, sir. Be rest assured of that." the driver rolled his eyes and went back to minding the road, hating himself for the kindness he showed a man so worthy of his contempt. But if he was to get paid, he had to put up with John for now. Three years. THREE YEARS. And yet he still hasn't asked my name. Rotten little soil. Glad I've only ever called him by name the once, that little I can do. he smirked a little to himself and threw forward the reins, pulling back with a snap, the carriage picked up speed, headed toward the wood.

John crossed his legs and folded his arms on his chest, tracing the landscape against the skyline with his wandering eye.

((a brief introduction to the character I think is effective enough))

Ulia walked along the uphill path to her home, to the home that has belonged to the village's swordsman for generations. The home that stood next to a small pond, with more houses further to the left behind the mayor's house.

Was this going to be the last time she slept here? Or was this attempt at adventure going to fail like the rest had since she was sixteen? Would she remain an obsessive extremist in the eyes of elders, or would she become a hero to be told about generations to come? A heroine from the proud Ordon Village, an example for all of them. She hoped for the latter.

She opened the door to find her father, Vik, sitting in a chair by the fire. He looked up at her like he was expecting her.

Of course he was, she had to come home eventually. He had a look in his eye, though. He wanted to talk.

"Ulia," He whispered, mindful of his sleeping wife. "We need to speak outside."

She knew what this was about. He was going to try and talk her out of it. Of course. She turned around and headed back out the door, and her father followed suite.

"I know that you want to leave with them, Ulia."

"Father, this is my chance. You know that! I've been held back for so long, I don't care what tradition I break, I'm leaving. Go ahead and stop me tomorrow."

"You know that by law I can. By Ordonian tradition you are still a child under my care, and can't leave until you reach the age of twenty."

"I'm aware..."

"But, there's an exception." Ulia's face lit up like a fire arrow. "We can release you from our care, and let you leave as you please."

"You mean-"

"When the explorers requested aid, we had to send help along with the adventurers or whatever aid Castle Town sent. You have been wanting to leave and make a name for yourself ever since you were a little girl. I need to stay here and protect the village, so I chose to send you."

"I'm going?! With them? And you don't have anything against it?"

"Personally, I would have waited to let you leave, but the need for help is something that can't be ignored. Plus, it's your dream," Vik said with a bright smile. Ulia couldn't help hugging her father in her skyrocketing excitement.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!! I love you so much!" she exclaimed as loudly as she could without waking up anyone around her.

"Ulia, just remember this. We'll always be here for you, even if we looked down upon you for trying to run away. We always loved your spirit and your heart, even though we were too busy scolding you to show it. I always knew you were bound for greatness, and I've been teaching you since you were six just so you could reach it. I love you to death, always will. I'm sorry that we didn't do much to show that for all of our traditions and scoldings."

"Don't worry about it, dad! What's done is done, and now I'm going on to do what I've always wanted to do. Either way, I'm here. I'll stop by and spend time with you and mom, don't worry."

"I'll be giving you my father's sword to take with you. Keep it well, and use it proudly. Now you should go get some rest, your big day will be tomorrow, and you don't want to be baggy-eyed and tired when it's time."

"Alright, dad! Thank you, goodnight!" She hugged him one more time and crept inside to her bed.

For all of her excitement, it was a good bit before she finally drifted to sleep.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Darius woke to the sounds of preparation. People preparing supplies for the adventurers, people talking, moving, working. He stretched, yawned, and climbed out of his bedroll and hopped down from the long bunk that many people had slept on. He noticed more empty bedrolls, and assumed that the rest of his party had already gotten up.

Damn, late for my own party, Darius thought, semi-ashamed of his lazy sleep-in. He walked out of the big house to be greeted by a tall man with a sword strapped to his back, who had his arm around a shorter girl, almost Darius's own height, who also had a sword holstered on her back.

"Darius, I don't believe we've met I'm Vik, Ordon's swordsman." the man said taking his arm away from the girl and extending his hand for a greeting. Darius took it with a smile.

"Well, here I am. Nice to meet you, sir. Are you planning on aiding us in our fight?"

"I would, but I have to remain here and guard the village. My daughter, however," he said, waving his hand toward the girl, "will be accompanying you."

"The help is much appreciated."

"See to it that she doesn't get herself killed on her first day, eh?"

"I'll make sure she doesn't, sir. Thank you." Darius shook his hand once more, and waved goodbye as he tended to other affairs.

"So... You're Darius," the girl finally spoke, extending her hand like her father.

"That's me, who are you?"

"Ulia."

"Nice to meet you, then. I take it you're a skilled swordsman like your father?"

"He's been training me since I was six, I think I'm pretty damn good. Personally, I'm thinking I might have to keep you from dieing instead."

"Just the kind of person I need," Darius laughed, shaking her hand.

"So... when do we leave?"

"Whenever we're fully prepared. A little excited, are we?"

"You know it! I've been waiting for this my entire life!"

"You and me both."

"Oh! I've got to give you this," she remembered, handing him a horn.

"What's this for?"

"In case we split up and one of us needs help. Each one of you has been given one."

"Nice. I'll go check on the others and see how they're doing. It's was nice meeting you!" Darius walked off, waving goodbye as he left, to go check on his friends.

((It's really awesome to see this pinned, Silves. Thanks.))

Kira was helping pack supplies for the adventurers. Everytime she got close enough to say something, her social skills failed her and she ended up saying nothing. She looked at the man she heard was named Darius. To the untrained eye, she just looked bored and uncaring but to those who pay attention, a lust for adventure burned in her eyes. Taking herself by surprise, she walked up to him. "Take me with you." Her voice came out a bit quiet and hoarse.

Darius stopped dead in his tracks.

Well, she's straight to the point, he thought.

"Hmm... We could use all the help we can get, but," Darius cautioned, not seeing a weapon on her, "what can you do?"

Vincent woke up a bit early that morning, mainly before most of the people were out of their beds. He was silent when getting out of the building, and walked around the expanded village, knowing that it was on it's way to getting as big as Kakariko. Though there was much to be done still, Vincent couldn't wait to see what the village would look like when the expansion project was finished at a point. Chances are that the swordsman of the village may need a new sword when the time comes to it, and he would be willing to deliver it like he should.

After a while, Vincent watched from the water's edge as citizens walked out of their homes, and watched as they began to prepare what he, Darius, Saka, and another swords-person who would be accompanying with them. The way he was sitting by the water's edge; however, made him seem like somebody younger than he actually was. It was to be expected, however, because whenever he was around any forms of water, the hotsprings of Kakariko and Death Mountain esspecially, made him feel quite assured of himself.

It wasn't long before a few of the village kids came by and asked him if he could show off his archery skills to them, and he thought why not. He was then taken to a place where they shot slingshots from time to time, and waited for them to set up the targets. When they were done, he drew his bow and placed an arrow on the string, and took aim at the first target. He released the string, and watched as the arrow soared and hit the first target dead on. It was like that for the next three targets, but when he aimed at the fifth target, he missed the first shot, but got it the second try. Out of the ten targets they set up, he made thirteen shots in total, which was three misses he made.

Name: Aros

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Race: Subrosian

Appearance: Aros is stout, muscled, and roughly four feet tall- the average height of his people. He has large, almost luminescent eyes, dull blue in color. His hair is black and cut close to his scalp, and though young has a fairly pronounced beard, which he keeps trimmed but not shaven. Due to lack of sunlight in his underground home, his skin is incredibly pale, to the point the veins and tissues beneath are visible. Most of these things are impossible to make out, of corse, as the cloak all Subrosians wear makes only his eyes partially discernable. Aros’s own hood is scarlet, an uncommon color, one that signifies his high position as the son of a merchant. Under the cloak he wears dark trousers, a brown jerkin, and a leather vest. His boots are of fine leather, durable but not really meant for work. He also wears a pair of black gloves when it is cold-though Aros’ idea of cold is what we may consider ‘humid’. He also has a jewel and ore-incrusted belt, with a large golden buckle bearing a skull on it that his grandfather gave him. The buckle was said to be a gift from a group of un-dead pirates who owed his ancestors a favor, though Aros doubts such stories.

Weapons: Aros carries no weapons, though he possess great strength and speed. He also has a pickaxe that he uses to clear out hardened lava while searching for ore in the volcanos.

Personality: A calm and reserved Subrosian, Aros is very even-tempered and slow to anger. He would prefer to sit at home or relax in a magma pool to adventuring and experiencing new things. He dislikes getting too far out of his own backyard, instead wishing to remain in peace, leaving alone and being left alone. He is content with that which life has dealt him, and seeks little beyond fresh food and a warm roof over his head. Unlike many members of his species, he is difficult to excite, though like most he is prone to strange hobbies, such as sapping trees to make air freshener. Some might see him as dull, though perhaps a better word is practical. Aros is very strict when it comes to Subrosian traditions, and has a strong sense of personal honor. He never removes his hood, save in the presence of family or when alone. He also hates the water and almost never goes to the beach, being unable to swim.

Home: Subrosia Market Place

Bio: The son of a wealthy merchant and a dance instructor, Aros was raised with loving care and always had the best that ore could buy. At an early age he was given an apprenticeship in masonry, and though he is in his last year of training, he has little intention of putting the skill to use, instead hoping to take over his father’s business. He has been spending much of his time up in the volcanos north of the Market Place, digging around for ore chunks, which he reasons to be good exercise. He has never given any thought to the tales of the world above...

((We'll run into him soon, Ivo. Don't worry.))

Ulia walked around town without much to do until the others were ready, which she hoped would be soon. She wanted to get this on the road. She figured it was best to kill time until then, though, so she decided to go meet some of her new friends.

"Hey," she waved to Vincent, the tan hylian from last night, who was having fun with the local kids. "Nice bow!" She looked at the targets set up by he children, and counted the arrows that have missed their mark. "You're pretty good with it."

Vincent placed the bow back on his shoulder, but then listened when the girl who he was eyeing last night walked over to him, and blushed a bit when she told him that he had a nice bow. He then saw her count out how many shots he made, and heard her remark that he was pretty good with it. "Well, I did learn how to use it for a few years now, even though I've had my sword for a longer period of time... But some say my archery skills are better than my swordsmanship, so I use my bow mainly unless the time calls for me to use a sword." He spoke, scratching the back of his head a bit. It was then he noticed a sword on her, and that made him a little curious.

"So, unless I'm mistakening... you'll be the extra hand which will be coming with us, right?" He asked, tilting his head a bit as he looked at her.

"So, now that you've stayed for a day and were taken care of, wanna find mommy?" Link asks the boy.

"Yeah yeah!" he yells.

They head off to Castle Town.

"Honey!" a motherly voice yells. She runs up to them, and the boy runs up to her and love her.

"Mommy!" he yells crying.

"You!" she yells, walking up to Link.

"Wha?? -" Link says as he gets smacked by a purse.

"Ow." Link says, rubbing his cheek.

"So this is what I get for helping a little boy."

He walks back home and grabs his big stick from his house. He takes it outside and practices on his dummy.

"Today, I will win and receive my sword!" he says, repeatedly hitting it.
