((Possible time break?))

"I hate sand. So much." Saka complained, "Damned stuff gets in my scales, dries me up. Add to that it's kinda heavy after it starts building up..." He laughed a little. "But hey, at least I don't live out here. I have no idea how those gerudo do it."

"Yeah," Ulia said, "but it's still boring. Stand in the hot sand all day looking at blank sky all the time... Guess it's better than a gray one all the time, though."

Eventually, after clearing the desert and going into the more mountainous area, they finally passed their old campsite where Alicia ambushed them. By then, it was cutting into the later hours of the afternoon. It would probably be late night by the time they reached Kakariko, but they had to keep moving.

It was night, not too late but dark enough, when they were in Hyrule Field south of Castle Town. They couldn't see a thing because they lacked a torch or a lamp, but that might play into their favor. If their surroundings are dark, they can't be seen. Bandits lying in wait aren't likely to find them.

"Saddle up, boys! We got ourselves a good one tonight!" A rough voice yelled, breaking Darius' hope.

"Get ready," Darius called, drawing his sword and blade. Ulia laughed and drew her sword. The bandits circled around them on their horses, brandishing torches to reveal themselves and their prey.

"Looks like they're gonna fight, boss," One of them said, laughing.

"Six," Darius stated plainly.

"What the hell're you doing, boy?" The boss teased. "Counting us? Oh no, he's got us figured out, boys! I guess we'd better ride on out of here!" He laughed, and the others followed suite. "Keep the girls alive, kill these ugly bastards!" He yelled, brandishing his sword and charging.

He swiped at Darius and landed a hit across the left shoulder. Darius doubled back, fell to one knee, and gripped his shoulder tightly, grunting in pain.

Ulia, taking a blunt advantage of the situation, took a light leap off of his right shoulder and speared her sword through the boss' chest. It was a fatal wound, if he wasn't dead now he would be soon.

Darius tried to stand, but another bandit's swipe licked his back. The bandit leapt from his horse and impaled Darius in his leg, making him gasp in pain. The bandit brought the blade down on Darius' lower torso, just penetrating it before Ulia's tackle knocked the bandit and the sword off of him. He remained there, writhing in pain.

Ulia's tackle had pinned the bandit to the ground. She pulled out a knife that he had sheathed on his thigh, and used his own knife to impale his throat, killing him.

((A lot happened in this post, but I've been out of the game for a LONG time, and I want to get this story movin'. :) ))

Once Vincent heard the voices, his bow was already prepped with an arrow, and he listened instinctively for voices so he could take aim. After a moment, he listened to the sound of footsteps behind him, and before they could get in a blow, Vincent sidestepped out of the way, taking the arrow off the string and stabbed him in where he guessed to be the shoulder. In a swift action, he brought his leg up to kick the man's hand, but it was grabbed and he was held upside down. His arrows fell out of his quiver, but he reached for another and stabbed that into his knee, causing him to yell out, releasing him.

Vincent brought his hands down before he hit the ground, and brought himself to his feet, grabbinbg yet another arrow and stabbed that into the man's throat, cutting off his air supply. He kicked him back, and that knocked their weapon out of their hands and onto the groud before him,and he knew they were dead, since he did feel some blood on his hands. He knew that he had no time to pick up his arrows now, so the weapon belonging to them had to do for now, and he prepared himself with it and listened in case any more were coming at him.

Kira saw Darius get hurt and ran to his side, grabbing some things out of her bag while running. She pressed a cloth to each wound, which had a healing oil in it. "It'll sting but keep it pressed to your wounds." Her hand instantly flung to her dagger and lept at the nearest bandit, impailing him in the neck.

Over half the gorons stood silent, not a single one making a sound, and all of them shocked. Ryu stood in the ring, shirtless and panting, staring at Victor as he lye on the ground. The Partriach just grinned as he looked at all the stunned faces of his people.

"Ryu wins!" The elder finally announced. Roars of disproval, anger, and joy filled the room.

"He's just a human, how could he beat Victor!?"

"That's Ryu for ya!"

"Victor is the greatest! Go home, human!"

"Remaaaatch!!"

The Partriach chuckled, then waved Ryu over.

"Here, your prize. It was a 40-2 bet, and the 2 won. You made those two very happy." He chuckled again. Ryu thanked him and bowed before heading out, passing all the angry gorons to get to the elevator.

Ryu strolled into Kakariko, expecting it to be just as calm and peaceful as it had been when he left it. It wasn't.

Twenty or so bandits were in the village, mauling people and taking their things, robbing houses, and they were all working their way through to where he stood. He caught sight of one of the bandits he had seen while searching for the Partriach's son. He did not look happy, and it seemed he was heading this mob.

Ryu unsheathed his sword and hid behind a building, he could hear a bandit coming... he crept closer to the corner, and when the bandit was close enough, he jumped out, prepared to impale him. He almost fell down in shock when he saw the doctor, she was crying, and her shirt was half torn off.

"Please... the hospital... they're going to set it on fire..." She whimpered. Ryu nodded.

"Go fetch the gorons, there's one on watch fairly close to the village, he can get the others." She nodded, and started running in the direction of Death Mountain.

"There's the wench! Get her!" Ryu's hair stood on end. He sighed, knowing he must expose himself and ruin his whole entire plan to save her... Oh well. He appeared seemingly out of nowhere, taking out the two bandits with ease, as they weren't even armed. Unfortunately, he was right. another bandit saw him, and called to another, then he called back to yet another, and that one told the boss.

"GIVE ME HIS HEAD!!" Ryu heard him roar.

18 vs. 1, hardly a fair fight...

Ryu charged them, shouting his battle cry. His hope, was that if they were all focused on him, the other people, including the hospitalized ones, would be safe. And hopefully the gorons would arrive in time to save him, again. The first bandit to reach him wielded a hammer, this one was easy to dispatch as he swung too hastily and clumsily, leaving himself open to Ryu's flashing sword. The next three to arrive all wielded swords, though they hadn't been trained how to wield them in the slightest, making them relatively easy as well. Then the entire mob charged him, with a couple lagging behind with bows.

Twelve at once huh? This should be fun... Ryu drew his knife with his left hand, then crouched slightly. The first one to attack him was obviously much more skilled with a sword than the others, as he held it the right way. Ryu leapt at him, parried with his knife, and thrust. But missed... he was too fast an dodged it. The bandit was now behind him, and Ryu realized his mistake too late. As they all formed a circle around him, including to two archers, Ryu prayed to the goddesses help would come...

"Finish him!" Their leader cried.

Vincent had blades locked with another bandit when he heard the voice, telling him to hurry to Kakariko. It almost caused him to get off guard, but thankfully he reacted quick enough to duck out of the way and tripped the man, quickly ending his breath with a stab to the gut. Quickly taking the sword out of him, he turnd towards the group, and since four were defeated thus far, they could handle the rest, and made sure that the sword was straped to his side. "Vincent will be waiting at Kakariko for all of you, something draws him there..." He spoke, and quickly ran as fast as he could, and just entering the canyon before the village, he could smell smoke, and that often wasn't a good sign. He took whatever arrows he could from the fight and placed them in the quiver, but he only was able to pick up ten.

Once he entered the village, the sound of a fire crackling came to his ears, and his eyes changed simutaniously from glazed to how they were before he lost his emotions. The village where he was raised, the place where he grew up; now in mere flames by a group of bandits. He wanted to yell to show his anger, but he couldn't; all he could do now is to try and help the village. He watched as a few of the village people took up arms and tried toprotect which was their home, but some weren't properly trained to fight, and were struck down. And when he looked to the center of the village, he saw twelve or so men encircling someone, and noticed there were archers in the battle. He quickly strung an arrow and, before they could release their arrow upon the man, he let the arrow soar, striking him in the heart and ending his lif in an instant. The arrow was so powerful, that it went through and was able to hit another man, one of the few encircling the one in the back, but not enough to kill him.

It was at the moment Smithy had left his blacksmith, and didn't even notice Vincnt at first, brandishing a throwing axe in his right hand, and a warhammer in his left. "Blimey! Fight fair, would ya?!" He cried, tossing the axe as hard as he could at one of the bandits. Vincent knew he had to stay out of sight, for he did not wish to tell who was a father-figure to him what had happeed to him recently. So he went around and climbed onto the roof of one of the buildings, taking aim at those who weren't friends, and also had the sword from earlier at his side in case someone managed to avoid his accurate, but not always lethal shots.

As he rode into Kakariko village, Sereg stood up on the borrowed bulbo. Assessing they situation, he noticed the archer on the rooftop, the circle of bandits, and their target.us After spurring the bulbo into a charge, he stood on thev saddle. As the bulbo knocked some bandits over, he leapt from the saddle with his short sword while throwing a dagger at an archer. Stabbing a bandit, he landed with his back to the person inside the ring. He drew a dagger and stood there, knees slightly bent, waiting for the next move.

Four down already and I haven't even started. Saka pulled his knifes from their hiding places, and got to work. He quickly moved behind the bandits who were still engaged with Darius and Ulia. With a flick of his wrist, one blade sailed into a poor man's back as Saka got behind the other. His knife pressed to the bandit's throat as he spoke. "Move and your pathetic existence ends here."

Looking around at his companions, who had taken most of the damage, he asked, "Everybody okay?" He looked them over, not for one second letting his knife move away from his enemy's throat. "Where the hell did Vincent run off to?"

Darius was beginning to cough up blood. He was trying to speak, but simply couldn't.

"Hell no," Ulia said, answering Saka's question, "Darius is in a bad way. We've gotta get him to Kakariko and we've gotta do it now. There's no time. Let's get moving, people!" She carefully wrapped her arms under Darius and lifted him. "Kill the bastard," she ordered Saka coldly, and tried to move as smoothly, yet as quickly, as she could to Kakariko.

"I have a family to feed!" the bandit stuttered. "And that is worth the life of others? No, your sentence is death." Blood ran from his neck, and Saka picked up his knifes and followed after Ulia.

Ulia thought about the family that the bandit mentioned, but guilt was far from her. That bandit had sealed his fate, and chosen his own path.

She trotted on, with Darius's blood beginning to soak her arms and jacket. If Darius bleeding out wasn't enough, she soon smelt smoke, and saw Kakarkio in flames.

"You have got to be screwing with me!!" She yelled at the town, shaking her head and resolving to push on, anyway. It wasn't long before she came to a standoff in which she saw Smithy involved. She set Darius down and ripped his shirt to shreds, tieing them around his more severe wounds, along with the cloths for support, and laying a strip under his back to protect against infection. Finally, she drew her sword and jumped into the fight.

Kira quickly followed, shouting to Ulia from behind "Make sure those cloths stay on his wounds otherwise it wont heal faster!"

Vincent remained on the roof, but watched as a bulbo rushed into the town, carrying someone other than a bulbin on their back. Still though, watching as he took out an archer and began to fight against the bandits, he knew that the man wasn't bad it would seem. He took another shot at one of the bandits, striking one which was about to attack Smithy in the arm, stunning him long enough for Smithy to knock him away with the large warhammer, cracking his ribs. Vincent heard Smithy curse at the man for trying to attack him from behind, and for a second, Vincent thought he was looking at him, but saw his attention turn towards the entrance for a moment before returning to the fight along with his friends who caught up with him.

Vincent took another roll call, but there seemed to be one short to him; that is, until he heard a battle cry from above. Not wanting to get hit by the man's axe, Vincent rollwed out of the way and dropped his bow, drawing his sword with his right hand. He saw that the man had his axe stuck into the rooftop, and he was about to go in for an attack; but the man saw this coming and kicked the boy when his guard was down. Vincent was knocked back a few feet, right to the point where he was at the edge of the roof, and it was a large, possible death fall if he fell.

By this time, the man had the axe removed from the roof and had it ready. "Heh, no place to run, boy... No place to hide either..." He spoke, and by how large he was and how skilled he was as well, he must've been the group leader, at least to this group. This was one fight that Vincent would have to handle on his own, since there wasn't anyone who was skilled with a bow down there; not even Smithy. The man saw his bow, and simply kicked it off the roof, causing it to land by the doorway of the building. Close range combat was one of Vincent's weaknesses, at least if he was forced to fight alone, and considering that he didn't fight the same way he used to, chances were fair that he'd be the one to die.

Ulia heard the sound of crafted wood hitting the ground and turned. She saw a bow. A bow that she recognized. Images of the bow in her own hands flashed through her mind. It was Vincent's! She looked up and saw him at the edge of a rooftop.

Someone's got him pinned, or he wouldn't be facing that direction, and his bow would be in his hands, not on the ground. She knew that Vincent was primarily an archer, and it was assumable that he wouldn't be the best swordsman in the world. The others could handle the bandits and Darius. She had to make sure Vincent made it out of this alive. She looked around and saw a ladder and, sheathing her sword and grabbing the bow, climbed it, drawing it again at the top.

"Vincent!" she called, tossing him his bow. "Give the people on the ground support! I'll take care of this bastard, keep 'im off your back!"

"It helped once, let's try again." Saka scanned the battlefield, making sure he was safe, if just for the moment. "Nayru, goddess of wisdom and order, I your humble servant ask aid in the name of others, that the natural order may be upheld. Bind the the flesh that weeps so that it cry no more, and ease the pain of he who did as he must. That-" He was cut off by a bandit grabbing his neck. "Wha' we got here, hmm? A big ol' fishie crying over a boy who look apt to die." The bandit's grip tightened. "But we can't have tha', now can we. No, I think you need to-" His hands released Saka's neck.

Saka turned, to see the man's lifeless body, held by another bandit. The killer put his finger to his face and disappeared into the shadows.
