Posted 8 Apr 2010 I am currently making a Zelda shield, form Wind Waker! Here they are! The body is made of pure cardboard, very strong. The red part is made of paint. Also the Triforce pieces are painted yellow with paint. The outer edge is taped on and painted with one coat of yellow, and covered with a silver crayon, which worked very well! The back is colored with brown crayons. The white parts are glue, which held one of the straps, but I removed it so I could completely work on it without messing up. I put the Triforce pieces and the circles in the middle ot show where I am putting them. I might do the eagle thing and those line designs in cardboard, but i don't know yet. What do you think? Posted 8 Apr 2010 looks good so far, you should def do the lines and the winged creature. if u want the edges to be shiny maybe u could use some aluminum foil or something like that.
Posted 8 Apr 2010 Thank you! I think it already looks shiny already actually. Its just going to be used to play, i'm not too worried about that. I was thinking of doing the lines on the shield itself, then trace with black marker. I will do the winged creature at one point or another. Thanks for looking! Posted 10 Apr 2010 I think that maybe the site should hold a contest rewarding the person who makes the best zelda item. our u can select 1 item a week for people to work on and reward accordingly. what do u guys think? if this hasn't been done already. Posted 10 Apr 2010 I think that money would be more involved then skills in a contest like that. Someone could by a premade wooden sheild and paint it, for example. Although... I wanna see a skull hammer.
