Posted 11 Jul 2015 You bought a car without a driver's license? I got my first car more than a year before I had my license. My parents wanted me to learn to drive standard, which the driver's ed program I was in didn't teach, so they got me a Jeep Liberty with a stick shift and taught me in that. I drove it for six years, until finally it started overheating on the highway and the repairs would cost more than the car. Also, in personal news, I'm getting married tonight! Everybody is in town already, which has been interesting, and as far as I know everything is set up and ready to go for the service! Posted 11 Jul 2015 Thanks! It's been a crazy busy year for me, so I haven't been around here too much to give updates. Life after graduation has been packed with responsibilities and stuff. I start my master's program at seminary in August, and I start work as a campus minister at a junior college a few weeks before I start class. So the craziness will continue for a while longer! Posted 19 Jul 2015 does anybody understand why celebrities are so glorified like, these people look like plastic As opposed to any other highly praised figure throughout any culture's history? At least we worship mortals, physical beings, now. Before it was fictional gods upon mount Olympus. But to more forwardly answer your question, it's because they inspire us. Either creatively or as a "lifestyle" people work to obtain. Gods inspired us as muses Celebrities inspire us with their works of art or life Literally we have just slapped a new label on a very old concept. I may have been reading a lot of the Wicked + the Divine lately hahaha
