So one of my newer friends is really into anime and is trying to get me to watch it. Like at my other friends' birthday party we watched AMV Hell 1-5 and found interesting anime's I'd want to watch. So far I've watched Lucky Star which is pretty good, imo. I'm on episode 21 0f 24 and then there's the OAV which I have no clue what an OAV is, but I think it's a movie.

In fact he made a list of anime's he thinks I'd enjoy and the names of some I'd watch from AMVH.

Sora No Otoshimono

Soul Eater

Azumanga Diaoh

Full Metal Panic

Clannad

Shugo Chara

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Excel Saga

Chobits

Read or Die

Darker than Black

K-ON

Heroman

D.N. Angel

Eureka seven

FLCL (furi kuri)

Fruits Basket

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou

Kurokami

Negima

Nyan Koi!

Sola

Tales of the Abyss

Toaru Majutsu no Index

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun

Toradora

Trigun

Tsubasa Chronicle

XXxHoLiC

Zero no Tsukiama

Keroro Gunsou

Shakugana no shana

Working!!

Spice and Wolf

I've only heard of Soul Eater and Eureka Seven. I don't remember where though. However I added 4 others to his list.

To Love Ru

Grenadier

Maria+Holic

Card Captor Sakura

Some kid I sit next to told me To Love Ru was really good. Grenadier I remember has something to do with bullets coming from girls' boobs which looked awesome. Maria+Holic is an anime about some dude who dresses like a chick for some reason and I think someone on here told me a long time ago that Card Captor Sakura was pretty good.

What happened to the old 2007 me that never watched anime? I mean I watched all 153 episodes of Dragon Ball for fun.

Actually right now I'm reading the Lucky Star manga online.

Eka used to talk about Eureka Seven a lot I think. No idea what that show was about though.

Maybe it was about aliens?

That's right. Eka did talk about it. I don't remember what it's about, but I'm going to watch them all. Not in that order though.

An OVA is Original Video Animation. It's a direct to DVD release of the show before it becomes a series anime. It's like a test to see if the manga would make a good weekly cartoon.

I'm gonna look at your list now and put in my 2 cents.

Soul Eater - Loved it when I was super into anime. I don't think I would feel the same now, though.

Full Metal Panic - I couldn't watch this. It just seemed really unappealing to me.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Fantastic

Chobits - Borderline Hentai (anime porn)

Heroman - Really cheesy... I kinda wanna start watching it again though. I liked it.

Eureka seven - Neon Genesis Evangelion rip off, but still better... I mean, good.

FLCL - It's pretty good. Annoying and boring at times, but a nice short series. (Remember, you write "FLCL" you SAY "Fooly Cooly/Furi Kuri")

Fruits Basket - Chick flick?

Trigun - Lot of people like this... I don't but you might.

Tsubasa Chronicle - Watch with XXXHolic as one series, from what I've heard

XXxHoLiC - Watch with Tsubasa as one series, from what I've heard

Keroro Gunsou - (Sgt. Frog) Has a place in my heart. You'll like it if you liked Lucky Star.

PS- Watch One Piece!!!

Okay, I've only watched a little less than half of the first Negima anime series, but it is a terrible adaptation of the manga. The animation is mediocre (with such memorable off-model moments as Negi's self-duplicating staff), the music fits what's happening on screen about half of the time (for example, a student is attacked by a vampire while what can only be described as a remix of the Pink Panther theme plays in the background), and the voice acting isn't much to write home about either.

Edit: Clannad, Excel Saga, To Aru Majutsu no Index, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, and Toradora are the anime from that list that I would also recommend. Especially Toradora. Also, keep in mind that To Aru Majutsu no Index and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun have currently been licensed by FUNimation, but not yet released, so fansubs of some episodes may be very difficult to find. You may want to wait until FUNimation eventually uploads the subtitled episodes to their Youtube channel, as they usually do.

Oh well then I'll still watch it.

I've heard from a lot of people that Soul Eater was good.

I've never heard of Full Metal Panic or Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Though at first I though Full Metal Panic was that show about the dude with blonde hair and his robot like brother.

Borderline hentai is fine with me. As long as it's not full because I find perverted stuff to be funny.

The guy said that Heroman wasn't all that great, but he thought that I'd like it.

That's what Furi Kuri meant at the end of FLCL.

I've heard of Fruits Basket, but I don't know anything about it.

Never heard of Trigun-XXxHoLiC so I have no real opinions on them.

I remember there's was someone on here who was anime obsessed who liked Keroro Gunsou. Also when I looked at the pictures I kind of realized that when I saw that it had the same character on Tsukasa's phone.

As for One Piece, it really didn't look like my type of anime and everyone I've talked to about it said they didn't like it that much. Same with Naruto. Like a few episodes are good, but it gets boring. Thing is I never watched Naruto either.

I don't care if you like One Piece or not, but please do not compare it to Naruto. Or Bleach for that matter. Those were good stories that got old very quickly, but One Piece only gets better as you watch it. Yes, it has slow parts, but everything is relevant to the story. (Except fillers, but thats with everything). Naruto and Bleach seem like they are being written as they go, but One Piece makes references from the beginning of the story that only make sense far into the story. Oda had the entire series' basic story mapped out when he started, unlike most writers of super long term stories.
