Barbecue sauce is supposed to be sweet and tangy, not vinegar-y. God damn carolinians. Have I mentioned that this state is shit? I have that opinion. Posted 21 Oct 2012 (edited) I like pretty much anything, providing it's actually cooked well. I'll try pretty much any type of food, as well, no matter how odd it seems. Like, my uncle Sam, is from southern Mexico and goes down there every couple of years to visit his family. One time, he brought back a bunch of live chapulines and cooked them up for us all to try. If you don't know what those are, Google is your friend. They're quite good, actually. A couple other tasty critters are rattlesnake, kangaroo, and camel. You have to be careful cooking those last two, though, because if you cook them too long they'll get really tough and elastic. Rattlesnake's really good deep-fried with some sort of dip or sauce, and there's this restaurant in Orlando that cooks a mean kangaroo. Scorpions, bison, cuttlefish, and squirrel brains are pretty good, too. There's also this one kind of Italian cheese that's fermented by larvae or maggots to give it a really silky, velvety texture and it's quite good on wheat crackers. And then one of my favorite desserts to prepare is dried dates stuffed with a fresh almond paste made with cinnamon and orange extract, topped with some thinly shredded coconut. Delicious.
