Hell of a First Post, man... Welcome to the forum.

You should feel honored, you ripped me out from my inactivity. I do hope your project turns out well, I'm sure plenty of the members here on the forum would be interested to hear more about it.

It does feel good knowing that I've brought a veteran back.

I'm currently reasoning with myself for the type of graphics for the game.

The classic 8 bit graphics, seen in the Nintendo Entertainment System:

or the slightly younger 16 bit graphics, seen in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System:

Unfortunately i'm not 100% on creating animated tiles, so the 16 bit might be harder for me to handle as my computer isn't the best in the world, although I won't be hosting off of this computer but still developing is an important part and I'd like to create without latency. Also I'd like to welcome any questions to do with my reality project or my virtual project, long story short thank you for the compliment.

I've taken every single page off of Wikipedia to do with The Legend Of Zelda video game series as a basic framework for the time line, a total of 125 pages printed just as a base, I hope to break my brain with this, as well as my online game. Both are very important to me and neither will go ahead without the other.

16 bit, please. I actually like the Game Boy Color graphics. (Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons/Ages)

Personally, I prefer the 16-bit graphics. It's easier on my eyes, I also find it more visually appealing. I too enjoyed the GB games, however, I assumed you were speaking strictly about the SNES games.

By the way, Poe Collector, I absolutely loved the layout to your post. IT was very well written and the pasted pictures WITH matching url links included seem very attractive. Almost in a sort of news article fashion, your methods have made me think that you're a rather intelligent fellow and I'm liking you so far.

I'm happy to see people like what I'm writing, I try to stay neat so if I ever have to refer to something I've posted it would be easier for everyone. I do prefer 16 bit, because the SNES was the original console I was given for Christmas or some holiday event. I do remember playing it a lot when I was young that's for sure.

Favors tipping towards the 16 bit, but I won't make a final decision until I put everything into prospective as mentioned the Game Boy line, all original three games where very fun and made a few differences to the series. The magnet gloves, the side scrolling stages (Already implemented in Zelda II, but instead of 70% of the time it was merely for dungeons or underground parts) and other aspects including the fact it was portable made a giant revolution to roll playing - puzzle gamers around the commercial world.

I plan not to simply rip out the tiles and sprites used in said games, it's nice to have a look and see what I will be aiming for. But I might have to resort to such methods. Happy to hear you like the thread :n_n:.

EDIT I'm on the fence. I've been looking at the specific graphics used in these several games; Legend of Zelda, The: Oracle of Seasons, Legend of Zelda, The: Oracle of Ages & Legend of Zelda, The: Link's Awakening. I've scanned through these files of the links given above and am very pleased to see their small file size, color & originality. I thought I could use these tiles and create my own areas, if I'm going to take sprites I will (Please let this be clear, many online games have sounded appealing to only be a very unpleasant leech, this is not one of those cases) make my own original ideas and areas.

The Gameboy Color's graphics look quite appealing to me,
First released in Japan on October 21, 1998, the Game Boy Color (abbreviated as GBC) added a color screen to a form factor slightly larger than the Game Boy Pocket. It also has double the processor speed, three times as much memory,[10] and an infrared communications port. Technologically, it was likened to the 8-bit NES video game console from the 1980s although the Game Boy Color has a much larger color palette (56 simultaneous colors out of 32,768 possible).
So I think I'm very close to my final decision.
