Hl2.exe fix?

19 posts in this topic

As I got some valve games two weeks ago It seems like I get the famous hl2.exe error, so I have tryed everything but it seems like nothing works.

It doesn`t work to got to right click on the game(s) in steam and go to properties so advanced settings and type in a code, and does not even work to type in a code in cmd.exe.

Can someone give me a fix to this? It would be helpful if it has step by step pictures because my system language is norwegian.

The games I need help with is:

Garry`s mod

Portal

Team fortress 2

I really need help with this. :-(

So when I click on the source game(s) it will just load preparing to launch steam default after that it goes away like it should but I cant even start the game,

I have upgraded my drivers, tryed some advanced launch settings and tryed to code in cmd.exe,

I have different CP language so it will helpful with some screenshots.

I suggest trying a forum dedicated to Valve or Half Life 2. You're more likely to get a solution there.

1. Update all drivers.

2. Right click "Computer"

Click "Groups"

Right click "Administrators"

Click "Add to group..."

Click "Add"

Click "Advanced"

Click "Find Now"

Double click "Local Service"

Click "Ok"

"NT Authority\Local Service" should show up in the list now

Click "Ok"

Close Computer Management and reboot.

3. From the start menu, run type "CMD" this will bring up the DOS Shell

then type: "net localgroup Administrators /add Local Service"

Then reboot, let me know what it says if this doesn't work.

It would be helpful if it has step by step pictures because my system language is norwegian.
