I've been ignoring the game a little recently because all I've been doing is grinding in a patch of grass to the east of Cerulean, getting all my Pokémon up to level 20 at least before I proceed.

This is how I'm doing with that endeavor:

Cirt (Oddish): lvl 18

Clay (Charmander): lvl 15

Stephen (Ivysaur): lvl 19

Luke (Nidorino): lvl 19

Lucy (Nidorina): lvl 20

Helpless (Butterfree): lvl 21

I have one of those somewhere. But the R button doesn't work so I abandoned it, since all I played at the time was Metroid. And in that game, without R you're puppyed.
