Pokémon Hardmode: Yellow

Another rule I'm following but will probably break.

I'm not going to research any techniques online, nor am I going to research weaknesses or strategy. I'm going at this with only the knowledge I already have and that which I obtain by talking to people in the game. No outside help.

------

Got to the end of that bridge with all the trainers, north of Cerulean City. Forgot how funny this was. Maybe when I first played this game I didn't find it funny at all. But yeah, the guy at the end, who gives you your 'fabulous prize' of a nugget, he asks "Also would you like to join Team Rocket? We're a team of dedicated to evil and Pokemon!". Definitely the best way to persuade me to join :B

Then he fought me and I KICKED HIS SORRY ASS

Current state of things:

Luke - lvl 19

Lucy - lvl 19

Helpless - lvl 19

Stephen - lvl 18

Bag:

Town Map

Dome Fossil

Poke Ball x8

Potion x6

HP Up

Escape Rope x2

Moon Stone

TM12TM04

TM11

Nugget

I never noticed how hard money is to come by in this game, so I bought far too many Poke Balls at the start. I'm being very careful with my Potions, only using them when all Party member's health is low. And I never use them outside of battle, unless I'm a very long way from the nearest Pokemon centre and travelling back would just be silly. Taking time is the key dearies.

And now, off to Bill's house.

------

UPDATE:

Oddish was caught!

Cirt - lvl 12

------

Also I accidentally broke the "no research" rule when looking up pictures for Nidorino, when I noticed that you evolve him into a Nidoking by using a Moon Stone. Nidorina also evolves by use of a Moon Stone. I have one Moon Stone and both Nidorina and Nidorino.

It's decision time.

------

Decision made.

I'm not going to evolve either of them.

Really? Can't you just get another moonstone somewhere?

I don't know where that somewhere is. I'm going to keep this one until I have another so I can evolve both Luke and Lucy at once, or until one of them dies, and I'll use it on whoever remains.

I just know that having both is kind of a competition and giving one of them the advantage of evolution isn't really fair.

i cant think of another location with Moon Stones. Just wait until you get fly, and then fly over to the cave.

Also, You may have lost pikachu, but you still get all 3 starters.

Dont skip over charmander and squirtle on accident :/

Let's hope I come across them. I can't remember where they are and like I said, I'm not going to research it online.

Oh wait, just got Charmander.

Well, talk to the people in Cinnabar. I think Squirtle may reside there.

This isn't really a fair way to see which is better.

I propose a 2 part challenge, which I will initiate myself.

I'll take both a nidoran male and female and EV train them to the best of their abilities, respectively. Then, I'll teach them the best possible moves that either of them can learn. Once they're both lvl 100, it's time to party.

Challenge #1

Nidoking vs Nidoqueen

Just an all out battle between the two. No holding back.

Challenge #2

Nidoking vs 6 water pokemon

Nidoqueen vs those same 6 water pokemon

This is an endurance test. Whoever lasts the longest wins this.

By the end of it, they will either end in a win, loss, or tie. That's about as fair a challenge as I can think of.

That's a really good point. Counter does twice the damage of the attack done on the user, which would definitely kill Nidoking in one hit. I guess it all comes down to if Nidoking using Earthquake can kill her in the first turn.
