Falling Skies for those who don't know is a show on TNT that chronicles the lives of The Second Mass, a group of rebels trying to survive 8 months after an Alien invasion. The invaders are six legged creatures called Skitters who kill adults and capture kids to use as slave labor.

Theory:

The "Skitters" are slaves to the Mechs

Evidence:

It is mentioned that the Skitters have six legs while the Mechs have two. If we create robots that basically look human shouldn't the Skitter's Mech have six legs also. I believe that the Skitters are adolescent slaves of the Mechs much like humans children are slaves.
