Also that every opinion except mine has been pointed out regardless of who the poster was originally talking to. This has been happening in increasing frequency. My existence is slowly fading. Cartoons are a medium. nothing more. nothing less. Anime specifically refers to Japanese Animations, by it's most common definition. It's NOT a style nor a collection of styles. It's a medium. That category is part of a medium, that being, animation, with its only distinction being that is is Japanese. Like American animation is a category of animation that is comprised of a collection of styles, so is anime. It is not a medium. It is a category of a medium, comprised of a collection of styles. You do not "act through anime". You can act through animation, but you do not act through anime. You can make an animation, but anime is the label that goes on it, if it fits the criteria.
