In the wake of World War II as nations rebuilt and the 40's gave rise to the 50's and 60's. The new "it" music Rock & Roll had come and with it opportunity. There was an untapped market in silly pointless songs.

You hear them even today, usually on classic rock and oldies stations around Holidays.

So if it's the "Purple People Eater", "Monster Mash" or something lesser known, chat it up here.

For me it begins and ends with a series of songs from the late 1950's done in the style of news reports all centered around Flying Saucers.

Oh gosh, thinking about old-school novelty songs, I gotta mention "Beware of the Blob", the intro song to the movie The Blob. So catchy...
