Hey, see that donkey up in the top left? I just wanted to make a point to point that out, seeing as how this poster was produced in 1953. That donkey up there bears a striking resemblance to the ponies of the new show everyone loves to hate or hates to love or just loves. It has that resemblance because the artist who designed it was trying to convey generally the same attitude about the donkey as the character designers of mlp (Pretty sure Lauren Faust did the initial designs in this case), and they both arrived at generally the same conclusion for what needed to be done, despite the fact that neither of these people ever met each other, ever. I doubt Lauren has ever even seen this poster or character in particular, and yet they still both came to the same conclusion.

I know its pretty weird that I pay such close attention to the character designs and designers of the show; Rebecca Dart, who PRETTY OBVIOUSLY did the design of Discord, made a great one-shot comic called Rabbit Head that you should read, and is also just generally a good illustrator that I appreciate. I mean, This is the stuff I like. This is what I'm passionate about. This is what I want to do for videogames and things and stuff. I dunno. I'm just dorkin' and ravin' and bein' a dunce. As you were.
