Though the only thing in that went wrong in that particular one was some of the colouring in the alternating black/white lines in the hair-esque shape.
My OP doodles seem much simpler and barren compared to this one. With millimetres separating the lines.

idk if Poseidon lives or the clouds but in this case I guess he does?

My second doodle in a night usually doesn't work out well. At least this one is decent enough to get posted here. Less random scribbling lines though, more real things. Less interesting.
And also a lot more flawed. Oh well.

Yeah, I agree. Your first doodle that night came out much better. I know you didn't mean to mess up the shading there in that circle like you did, but have you considered building off that? Having the line start tinted on one side and shaded on the other, and invert that every line up. I think it would make a really cool effect. And I think you should have kept filling in every other line of the paper like you were doing. But these are the kind of doodles I like finding in people's sketchbooks, yeah.
