Skyward Sword save data corruption

I've recently been made aware of a potential problem, a bug if you will in the saving of game progress in Zelda: Skyward Sword. Under the right conditions when a game is saved something happens and corrupts the data causing an error to occur when loading the save file. To correct this Nintendo has just released a Wii "Channel" programming patch to repair the corrupt files.

It's available now for free in the Wii Shop, if you've never played Skyward Sword there's no need to download this patch.
