For what it's worth, I'm donating to them every month.

And a few other charities in Africa. But I really want one closer to home. Helping people in Africa is great, yeah, but I don't see the fruit of my investments.

I'm not talking about acknowledgement or praise.

I want to see people happy. I want to know that someone is taking that money and succeeding where they could not before. If I'm giving money/time to something and there's absolutely no progress...what's the point? It's like giving money to a hobo who drinks all the time and telling him to spend it on food. Then, a week later, you find him curled up in a dumpster hugging a bottle of Jack Daniels. You wasted that money.

I absolutely want to help people just for the sake of helping people. But you could potentially do more harm than good, if you aren't careful.
