not really, but seeing this on tumblr ~piqued~ my interest and obviously it deserves it's own topic

how do you guys pronounce the letter 'H'

ACCORDING TO TUMBLR (also shuttup before you start I know how everyone feels about tumblr on here) apparently americans says it differently as 'etch' is this actually true 99.9% of the forum's userbase? please say it's completely wrong and you pronounce it HAYTCH or AYTCH either is acceptable. unless there's a mystery fourth pronounciation oh god. i'm not hatin' tho im just confused!

like. etch? i don't geddit how does that make sense??? ):

????? am i being dumb like i usually am seen as here. but really. whoever answers first gets a free like lol. i'm just that desperate for an answer. IT WILL BUG ME FOREVER TIL I KNOW

just when you thought having so many online american friends would never come in handy aye

oh no I lost my 3500 posts now )o:

EDIT: oh I should reveal how I say it lol, mostly HAYTCH. sometimes aytch. idk I swip-and-swap as well.

I pronounce it HAYTCH but I think most people in the UK pronounce it AYTCH, but I'm not too sure.

Aytch. I didn't even know people could pronounce it another way. Only other letter I've known with a different pronunciation is Z in Canada being "zed".

im guessing the "etch" option would be like "etch a sketch"? because that sounds weird to me, too.

i say it "aych", but to be fair, i pronounce a lot of things strangely. like "mehlk" instead of "mielk"

For "milk"?

Both of those are strange pronunciations.

Like really you're saying "meeeelk" is the norm?

Here's how I pronounce all the letters...... backwards!!!
