SA2B, by my count, was the last good 3D sonic game. Though, a lot of people are calling Sonic generations particularly grand. There's a lot of hope that the next sonic game won't be awful. Fierce Muffin doesn't have a say in this.

Sonic Generations and Sonic Colors are both very good, competent, (some may say "great") Sonic games. 

 

But until a Sonic game brings back Chao...it will never be the same. I'm waiting for Sonic Adventure 3. I want it. In my mouth. And then in my Wii U.
