I would recommend mixes over purebreds. Live longer, and they tend to be smarter. I love dogs, because when you have a really good dog, it doesn't feel like a pet, it feels like a mute person who gets really excited all the time

i just know whatever mix i get, id want to be part aussie. the two i have are smart and friendly and floofy to pet in a good way.

Oh man. You are a good person. The best dog I ever had was a Aussie Lab mix. She had such a personality, and knew exactly what I meant any time I told her to do something, or called her. I really felt like when I spoke to her she understood, y'know? She's still around, but...probably not for long. She's really old, and shes sick with something, we aren't sure what.

 

On another note. Obedience school. I hate it as a concept. When we have that for people, we call it Room 101. Not to mention, it breeds nervous, neurotic dogs. That is not the way a dog should be trained.

I saw a German Shephard/Golden Retriever mix once and if it was not the most beautiful combination of the two dogs we used to have

 

 

Looks exactly like my old dog Ginger (died a few years back)

 

That's a way old picture. Blott on the left looks more or less the same, but Del on the right is old and now double the width he is here. Pretty striking difference, still a bit shocked looking at it, thinking he was ever that thin. Though his hair's wet so it might be half illusion.

 

 

Anyway test said a bunch of big dogs, with St Bernard up front and then a bunch after. Don't really care though.
