Feel like I'm sorta disqualified from posting here since I actually did change my name back in august. Quite happy with legally being Emma Sophia Sylvester :3

 

The other name my parents had ready when I was born was Marin, which I guess is a German variant of Maria. Idk I think it sounds kinda weird so I guess I dodged a bullet there at least?

I mean, i dont feel like a second rate copy-cat in that regards. Which is something I feel when i know 2 or more people by the same first name. It's a dumb judgmental thing, but I cant shake it and it doesn't really matter since the notion never leaves my mind.

Yeah, this is why people shortening my name to "Josh" drives me up a wall. It's like, if I meet multiple people with the same name, it's not as much as an issue, but when it comes to picking names for people/characters, I can't use them because I know people with those names.

 

There are a lot I would pick if I could get away with it, but recently I've been fond of "Yoshia". That's another one that would bug the hell out of me if shortened, though. I keep picking that sort of shit. I also like "Satou". Kainda a quiet name, sounds pleasant, appeals to my sweet tooth.
