I have not decided if I will play this or not. Like I said, Hussie is very aware that homestuck made it's leap from webcomic fame to internet fame when he introduced the young trolls and their complicated romance system. He knows that that's what sells and that's why he has all his money, and when namco told him he could do whatever he wanted he chose to do a dating sim. This could either be Hussie's return to the kind of writing we were all in love with once upon a time that he wrote before homestuck became a parody of itself and it's fandom, or it could be more of exactly what made homestuck bad in the first place. I might try reading it but I'm apprehensive.

That's essentially the same thing, between this and homestuck. He has all the creative power and the final say. Not to mention Namco literally said to him "do whatever you want," so it's not like he really has to answer to anyone. So long as he doesn't do anything overtly offensive he's got free reign.

Pheo you are missing the point. He came up with the premise, probably had a say in what characters are in it and what they are like, and thats about as far as his influence goes. There is a large team of writers who are actually writing this, because Hussie is too busy with Homestuck finale and the Homestuck game to take the time to write like 18 characters in a silly dating sim.

I remain skeptical. Maybe he won't be personally responsible for literally everything that happens, but he still pretty clearly knows the audience he's trying to get.

You have to buy the homestuck characters and you can't even buy them individually or in a 3-pak you have to buy every other character to get them

i believe that is because homestuck has literally nothing to do with namco, and its punishment for you wanting to play it soley because of homestuck, and not so you can caress the majestic hull of Galaga

for the record, only 6 of the characters are free, you can still talk to the other ones, but you cant do their routes

its kind of lame that all the awesome characters have to be unlocked but you know, we ARE just trying to mooch off like 5 months of work for free
