so Rust is this early access game that I haven't played but looks like it might be real fun for us all to play together when it is closer to release

 

its basically 3d minecraft with more emphasis on survival, also no mining.

 

and player killing is very much a thing

All I know is it's the same guy who made Garry's Mod and so therefore it's probably like, an obsessive and creative sandbox nerd game like Garry's Mod is, I think.

 

And yeah, now that I'm actually reading your words, I was right enough. It wouldn't be my kind of thing though. Survival wasn't what I played Minecraft for, so if it's basically the survival part of Minecraft, then I'm not bothered. Enjoy though, my friend.

I like survival mode. Gives you a bit of challenge

Its pretty fun but it has some problems right now, though its gotten much better since its been blowing up. The creator said something like the game is only 10% done right now. There used to be way more hackers than there are now, but there is still a big problem in that the end-game weapons are too easy to get, and there isn't any incentive for a 5 man squad in full kevlar and m4's to not shoot the newbies that are running around without any clothes on even. There is no way to tell whether someone is concealing a shotgun even if they dont have armor so its kinda turned into a shoot-on-sight thing.

 

If you can actually get established and you're not a douche who goes around killing new players all the time, doing big base raids on other groups is really fun. You can make traps, c4, destroy their doors and replace them with your own - all sorts of crafty stuff.
