Streaming Zelda

I am looking around at different stream-capable capture cards. I want to stream Melee. But also, as I am playing/finishing up Wind Waker, I think it'd be cool to stream Zelda, too. I was considering playing Twilight Princess after this one, and I would definitely promote this site with a watermark or something.

I don't know if I would talk over the stream, or if I would be showing video of my face while playing. I might not do either? I'm not sure what people would want. I've played the game once before, so I'm not going to be reacting to the game as if it's new to me. I'm also not an expert on the game, so I don't know how valuable my input would be if I were to talk about it. I didn't get far at all in Skyward Sword. Maybe I could do that one instead? Or whenever Hyrule Warriors comes out, maybe I could play that.

Realistically I will probably just stream a bit for a few days. Nothing too special or fancy. Maybe if people followed it enough, I could promote Hnet with giveaways. I have Wind Waker for GC and the Zelda Collector's disc things. Just a thought. What do you guys think?

ALSO: I have recently met a group of Zelda superfans. Maybe I could talk to them about this forum. It'd be weird for me to do, admittedly. I don't know, maybe their interest in Zelda could lead to a stream marathon? Just throwing thoughts out there.

If you want people to watch a stream, you are going to want to interact with the viewers.  If there is no interaction, then there is no reason to watch a stream live as opposed to a youtube video or something.  

 

The best streamers got their audience in one of two ways, they are either doing something exceptional that no one or very few other people are doing, or they are a good personality and interact and play well with chat/other people they are playing against.

 

That being said, I occasionally stream Zelda and would be up to marathon sometime.

That's cool. I didn't even know you liked Zelda, haha.

I guess I would just talk and react. I just have bad experiences of people hamming it up and trying to be Internet famous.

Off topic kinda: do you stream with a capture card? Or do you play them on your computer?

I've only ever streamed on my PC, but I don't think it's too hard to do with an elgato or similar card.

 

I use OBS and xsplit, depending on what I am doing.  I'm not into the whole hamming it up thing, I just like to have conversations with people who show up in twitch chat, it's a good time. 

 

And yeah, Zelda is what actually got me into gaming to begin with, always had a soft spot for it.
