I've been playing Ocarina of Time for 17 Years

... And yet just now, after beating the 3DS version on master quest with three hearts only, I realized that in the very last scene where you go back to Zelda after sealing the Door of Time, Young Link has the Triforce of Courage on his hand.

It's been 17 years and I'm still noticing really awesome things about this game that I hadn't before. Just goes to show what a great job the developers did on Ocarina of Time. Sure, this stuff happens with all sorts of games but I really feel like The Legend of Zelda put the bar as high as it has been for everyone else since its debut.

Anyone else had this happen with any of the Zelda games? Just any random bits you've picked up on even years after playing your favorite installment. It doesn't have to be recent, just something that took you a good while to realize.

Can't say off the top of my head, though I know there's got to be something out there I haven't caught in a zelda game that I would see if I went back and played it. I have to ask, though. Whats the significance of young link having the triforce of courage on his hand at the end of OoT? Wouldn't it always have been there?

Link technically shouldn't get the Triforce of Courage until he pulled the master sword and Ganondorf entered the Sacred Realm. Since both of those events happen at  the very end of young Link's storyline (every time he puts the Master Sword back in the Pedestal of Time he's returning to right before Ganondorf entered the Sacred Realm and split the Triforce up by getting the Triforce of Power), at the end he's returning to a point where Ganondof couldn't have gotten into the Sacred Realm yet and effectively locking the Door behind him, making it impossible to have gotten the Triforce of Courage in his time (no Ganondorf invading Sacred Realm = no Triforce split up = No Triforce of Courage for Link).

And yet, apparently travelling back in time did some odd things to how the Triforce decided to course-correct (Don't forget we're told by the King of Red Lions in Wind Waker that adult Link travelling back in time separated him from that timeline of Hyrule at the end of the game and broke the Triforce of Courage into pieces.) Young Link is apparently deemed by the Triforce as worthy of still having a piece of it and so the triangle decide to split up for who knows what reason and the piece that young Link never would've gotten in the child timeline was just given to him anyway.

I'm guessing this is an explanation for why the Triforce is split and divided up to Link, Zelda and Ganondorf in Twilight Princess (since that never should have happened). Furthermore, I think it shows that the triangles are aware that the flow of time in Hyrule has now trifurcated and they are trying to compensate for basically existing in three places at ones in different realities.
