People make entire careers out of knowing how to use it, I've read accounts by pros who've been using it for more than a decade who talk about how just when they think they've learned all it's tricks it shows them a new way of doing something, and they just learn to roll with it. Unity is much more indy/beginner friendly, and is the one that I've been using. 5.0.1 just came out a few weeks ago, actually. You should try looking into that.
