Posted 7 Jul 2015 I've seen lots of forum members struggle with doing this properly, so I thought I'd explain how to upload photos properly to the forums with a method that is quick, painless, and rarely has any hiccups. IF THE IMAGE YOU WANT TO SHOW IS ON YOUR COMPUTER: Locate your image file in whichever folder it's stored in on your computer. Be sure to remember this for later, because it's important! Maybe write it down somewhere? With your parent's permission, go online to http://www.imgur.com. No account creation necessary! At the bar on top of the home page(http://www.imgur.com), click on the "Upload Images" button(by clicking it with your left mouse button). Select the "browse your computer" option(by clicking it with your left mouse button). Navigate to the same file location you were looking for in step 1 of this guide. Did you remember it without writing it down? Good job! Select that file by clicking on it with the left mouse button.NOTE: If you would like to upload multiple photos at once, repeat steps 4-6 before continuing any further! Click(with your left mouse button) on the "start upload" button," and wait patiently for your photo to upload. Right click on your newly uploaded image, and select(with your left mouse button) the "copy image location" option. Start a new forum thread or new forum post on www.hyrule.net/forum, after asking your parent's permission of course! Click on the tiny polaroid image icon in the editor bar. Right click (NOT LEFT!) inside the text box that appears, and select the "paste" option. This will paste your image's location from imgur.com into the image dialogue box. Left click (NOT RIGHT!) on the "okay" button. IF THE IMAGE YOU WANT TO SHOW IS ALREADY ON THE WEB: Instead of uploading an image from your computer, copy the image location of your desired image and paste it in imgur's "enter image urls" option, then start from step 7 above. And voila! Your image should appear, just like this(except it will be whatever image you uploaded, not this one): Your image is hosted on imgur.com, and they're a very good free image hosting service, so it should stay up for a long time. You won't have to worry about things like hot linking, or the image link expiring or anything. I've had images stay on this website for years now that I uploaded to imgur for free! So if you ever have problems with images showing up on the forums, just use imgur.com like someone who isn't an asshat so I can stop browsing and seeing all these people with shitty broken image links all the goddamn time!
