Collecting Things

I've always been sort of interested in collecting things, be it in a game or real life. This passion first started in elementary school where I'd pick up small pebbles that looked pretty, and I'd store them in a pencil case for later.

 

Recently I've been into collecting Pokemon merchandise, though since I don't have much spare change it's a small collection.

 

Anyways, enough about me, what sorts of things do you like to collect? Do you have any complete collections? Whaat do you do with your collections?

I casually collect comics, but only ones i enjoy reading. I dont go after back issues or variant covers and stuff. Nor do i keep them mint.

Sometimes I'll get into a TCG and collect cards, until me and my friends become broke and cant afford any more lol

Small boxes? Do you put things in the boxes? Do you hide the boxes?

 

Imo boxes are great. They're cool cube-cumbers you can put stuff in and stow away for later. I don't know why boxes are so great. I used to collect boxes and hide stuff in em, and then hide the boxes. Boxes <3

I filled up my Skyrim house with one copy of each book in the game. The table is a mess.

 

In real life I like having lots of books as well. I keep all my comics out so I can look at them and remember what a good consumer I am.

i do that same exact thing but with gems and jewels. I've got a whole room set aside for my treasure hoard pile @u@

Ohhh also I collected anime movies for a long while, but that's slowed down. I still need to buy Princess Kaguya and The Wind Rises, but apart from those I own every Ghibli movie, on DVD, and then just as many other movies again, but from across other studios.

 

I've half started collecting other animated movies, but so far it's only 3: The Illustionist, My Dog Tulip, and Waltz with Bashir. Also Foodfight, but that's for ironic value and as a talking point with peeps who are in the know.

I'd recommend small coins or something like that. Keep 'em organized by coin type or whatever, that way you can collect boxes and coins at the same time.

I collect steam games.

 

I'll see a game on steam that I kinda like and buy it, but I'll never play it. ever.

 

Steam sales are kinda bad, they're like black friday for me, you don't really need that item but it's a good deal so why not.

I used to have a lot of Nazi money but then I sold it.

I have a handful of crystal keychains that are funny to me. They're very clunky.

I have a handful of costumes. Trench coats and matching hat, morphsuits, one-piece jumpsuits. I have a whole drawer dedicated to novelty clothing and masks and stuff.

Probably a good idea if I weren't always so broke lol. I collect my change in a tin box, and then dump it in a coin star when I need a few extra bucks for weed or comics lol.

I bought a mixed set of single serving cereal boxes once, to sneak into a theater. I saved three of them cause they were so cute, but I dunno what to do with them! Maybe I'll do something nice and creative, like put small gifts in them, maybe wrap them, and give it them to friends.

Maybe like some tiny art and/or trading cards to play with? Any other ideas? Something cheap but not trashy.
