Religion in Video Games

I'm really getting annoyed and even yes, offended, by the absurd amount of religion in video games these days. Games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Naruto, and Cory in the House are now just completely riddled with pro-religious references and imagery. Like, seriously, look at this screenshot from Sonic Boom.

this shit has gone way too far. opinions?

We should have more games where you kill religious deities, like in God of War and God of War 4

and God of War 2

I heard the first god of war is the only one with a decent plot and the others are all hilariously terrible because they weren't directed by the same guy

I don't want religion in my games. Get it together, game designers!

Don't you get to kill god in like every final fantasy game ever?

That raises a deeper question: are we trying to kill God in every game? We set in motion all of the events and control peoples' wills

I think about that a lot. I remember reading about an old MMO game where you could kill anyone anywhere, and the creator jumped into the game one day and everybody tried to kill him just to see if they could. And he forgot to turn on his immortality, and so he died. And I've seen videos of Notch joining Minecraft servers, and then everybody trying to kill him immediately. I think part of our nature is to prove to ourselves that god is really immortal or something. I don't know, I don't really care to talk about philosophy with people lol
