Its not necessary to defeat any of the bosses but Ganondorf. You can use it to finish off bosses like Diababa faster, but by all means the only time that move is actually necessary is on Ganondorf in the end of the game.

But is true that your forced into learning the move, its impossible to get past the white wolf when going to the forest temple. . .

Well, I was half right ._. but yeah, IMPOSSIBLE, unless you do some awesomeness glitchnessess evers, which is the Long Jump Attack, but you get that in the Forest Temple, which is /after/ you get the Ending Blow

On Minish Cap, I had just got Roc's Cape, and I wanted to test it out, so i tried jumping to a different platform, and it wouldn't work, so I got all annoyed and turned the game off - without saving... I later realised I had forgot to equip the Cape!
