The wii internet isn't THAT useful, the main bonus with having the internet browser on your wii as opposed to just using it normally on the computer is the ability to watch youtube videos full screen on the tv, I geuss that might be quite useful for you though

To be honest, i think if you think you can persuade your parents to get a laptop for you, you should, there's quite a few things you can't do on the internet for the wii (I think it only has flash version 6 or something and anything like java doesn't work, so it's not that great)
