Batman: Gotham Knight

In 2005 the Batman franchise was rebooted with "Batman Begins" for the first time we saw how young Bruce Wayne came to be Bat. This summer he returns with "The Dark Knight". But what happened to Bruce Wayne between these two movies. In "Batman: Gotham Knight" the time line is bridged in highly detailed animation by some of the greatest comic writers and animators of our generation.

Directed by Bruce Timm, co-creator and producer of Batman: The Animated Series, the film's six segments are written by Josh Olson, David Goyer, Brian Azzarello, Greg Rucka, Jordan Goldberg, and Alan Burnett. Each segment has its own writing and artistic style, just as numerous artists work in the same DC Universe.

Christian Bale, the current actor for Batman, will not be voicing his iconic character in this movie. Kevin Conroy(Batman: TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League and JLU) has been confirmed that he will be reprising the role of Batman in this direct to DVD for the entire animated feature. Other characters like Lucius Fox and Batman villains Deadshot, Killer Croc, and Scarecrow have all been confirmed to appear in the film, among other villains.

The movie is made up of different animated segments (Ala the Animatrix)

NOTE: These are not 100% accurate.

Have I Got A Story For You

A History of Violence screenwriter Josh Olson tells the story of how chance encounters with Batman by a group of youngsters leave each kid with a very different impression of the Dark Knight. Much like the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Legends of the Dark Knight".

The Dark Knight

Acclaimed novelist/comics writer Greg Rucka tell the story of Gotham City police having to get over their distrust of Batman, while under fire from the mob.

Field Test

Writer Jordan Goldberg showcases the incredible high-tech arsenal Batman commands and reveals that there are some things even Batman won't do in his pursuit for justice

In Darkness Dwells

Batman ventures into the Gotham sewers to face 'Killer Croc' a deformed thug who seems even monstrous after The Scarecrow returns with his fear toxin in this story by David S. Goyer, co-screenwriter of Batman Begins.

Working Through Pain

Award-winning comics writer Brian Azzarello explores an early chapter in Bruce Wayne's training, showing how a mysterious and exotic Indian woman named Cassandra introduced Batman to techniques that would help him to conquer the physical and spiritual consequences of his actions.

Deadshot

Alan Burnett--one of the most acclaimed writers on the Emmy Award-winning, Batman: The Animated Series--ties together threads, as Batman must thwart an unerring assassin whose love of guns and disregard for human life lets him cross lines that even a Dark Knight won't traverse.

Even though each segment is done in a different art style (Anime, Western art) it all ties into the movie.

It's hard to tell from the small pics here, but these are the different art styles of Batman in the movie.
