Posted 5 Apr 2008 A lovely picture of them... INSIDE YOU. A beautiful close up. A stunning body. Yus, the eyelash mite. Simple. Slightly parasitic. Harmless. And on 98% of people on Earth. =) Simply marvelous. I found out about them like 4 years ago and wanted to share. =D Sahaqiel
Posted 5 Apr 2008 I'm surprised it's 98% and not everyone, who is it that is safe? (well, from harmless things)
Posted 5 Apr 2008 98%?! Woah...I actually started feling my eyelashes to check for dust mites when I saw this topic. Are they truly harmless though?
Posted 5 Apr 2008 ... Something tells me that I'm going to start checking my eyelashes more often lol. xD (Of course to find nothing, unless I had a scientific microscope.)
Posted 5 Apr 2008 I really hope no mites are in my eyelashes...!
Posted 6 Apr 2008 (edited) Eww- that's so creepy. I've heard about microscopic mites before, but I didn't know that they could be found on eyelashes. Good thing they're harmless. "Slightly Parasitic"? What do they do that gives them that description? Edited 6 Apr 2008 by TwiliGirl (see edit history)
Posted 6 Apr 2008 Well, they feed off you, so they're parasitic. They're just not negatively parasitic. They benefit, you don't suffer. There's a term for that, but I forgot what it was. Sahaqiel
Posted 6 Apr 2008 It's the same sort of the crocodile's and those dentist bird things have? isn't it....It's probably a symbiotic relationship then
