Posted 25 Oct 2008 Hmmm....It's hard for me to think of one "Best" NES game. Certainly the most famous and influencial was the original Super Mario Bros. Imo, the most challenging would have to be the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2. Without a doubt, imo, the classic Megaman games (including Megaman 9) had some of the best Music the NES could offer. My opinions for likely contenders: Super Mario Bros. Megaman 2 Megaman 9 Punch - out! Kid Icarus The original Final Fantasy All three (or possibly more) original Castlevania games For most challenging (imo): The Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 Zelda II What are your opinions for the most influencial, most challenging, and ultimately, BEST NES games? Posted 26 Oct 2008 Could some mod add a poll? 'Kay, let's see who's winning so far: Super Mario Bros.: One vote (ARE YOU PEOPLE SERIOUS?!) Megaman 2: One vote Megaman 9: One vote Punch - out!: One vote Kid Icarus: One vote The original Final Fantasy: One vote All three (or possibly more) original Castlevania games: One vote For most challenging (imo): The Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2: One vote Zelda II: 1 vote Original Zelda: 3 votes River City Ransom: 1 vote Zippy Race: 1 vote Ballon Fight: 1 vote Tetris: 1 vote Seems the original Zelda is winning. But, wait: ONE VOTE FOR SMB? C'mon people! Without this game, games would not be what they are today! Show some more respect, eh?
Posted 27 Oct 2008 ONE VOTE FOR SMB? C'mon people! Without this game, games would not be what they are today! Show some more respect, eh? Or way more importantly, Mario Bros. 3. Everything that was great about the original only made about 30 times bigger and better. And you could play in a frog suite. That alone would of made it classic.
