But it says that you will only understand the answer when you know the question.

42 is the answer, but we need to know the question to understand it.

That's philosophical stuff there.

The meaning to life is to live... Then die...

It hosnstly has no meaning. You live then you die.

Yeah, that's what I think too. We're just sort of... here. No reason. We weren't put here. We just arrived and evolved. Then some guy wondered why they were there. Everybody seemed to be happy just hanging around and then this guy showed up.

Damn him. Complicating things.

Right. I must've misunderstood you there. :embarrassed:

Oh well. That's the meaning of life. To misunderstand people. It could be anything. Oh well.

The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything is undeniably 42. It was calculated by the most advanced supercomputer in existence, built by superbeings that regularly experiment on people on Earth in the form of mice. However, the Ultimate Question to the Ultimate Answer was never found. So, the Earth was built as a supercomputer so massive, it is often mistaken for a planet, utilizing even biological life forms to perform its functions. Evidence suggests that the Ultimate Question is what one of the programs, Arthur Dent, pulled subconsciously out of a makeshift Scrabble bag, but further studies and incidents have debunked this.

Theorizers claim that since not enough letters were in the bag, there could have been more to the Question that matched mathematically with the Answer. An undeniable resource, a man who drank too much of a truth serum, thus granting him the inability to lie about things whether or not they lie in his knowledge or not, has also come forth on his deathbed to say that the Question and Answer cannot coexist, or the Universe would be torn apart and been replaced with someone much more odd and twisted. Some think this may have happened more than once.

However, the Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything, remains at 42.

Also, Zeldafan, do not deny fact and insult the Answer so ignorantly. >:(

Look what I found:

Douglas Adams was asked many times during his career why he chose the number 42. Many theories were proposed, but he rejected them all. On November 3, 1993, he gave an answer on alt.fan.douglas-adams:

The move took away a lot of the philisophy from the books. The books are a comedy
