How about one that has a boss that is a giant cat that tries to kill you by eating you, the stage you face it in is really, really big, and what you do to defeat the cat is that a switch or something will come up in different parts of the stage randomly and will only last for less than 30 seconds, once you hit is a toy comes down and the cat goes rushing towards it, then while it's playing it runs into a spiked wall and you repeat this until it is defeated.

I can't think of an idea for a whole stage, now at a writers block.

I;m just waiting for a really good idea, that is simple to make, but still really cool.

Make a level like that ^. Make Ganon or something appear and then step on switches which throw firballs at him and eventually kill him. All the while, he's throwing poison gas, fireballs, and lightning-charged objects at you.

I know that most of that is possible.

Yeah, you could probably do that. It'd be a good idea actually. But I'd need the sprite for Ganondorf. I just prefer to do it in sprites.

I could make it even weirder though by making it so that you have to press switches to protect a black mage who eventually launches something that kills Ganondorf. But I'm not sure how I would do a time delay...

Edit: I know how. I could make a switch that lowers the door to the level, starts the boss and a slow moving car above the level which, when it reaches an object, activates a switch that makes the black make use his spell, which is an electrified ball with an impact sensitive bomb on it that launches at Ganondorf and blows him up!
