  1. This reminds me of Legend of Princess.... except not good. Although, despite have only one level and 3 bosses (2 sub bosses and 1 major boss) I don't think anything can really compare to how awesome LoP is. You can choose 2 items to use in the game from a list that lets you access different areas, increase the difficulty of play, and explore new ways of killing stuff. Also, the game play is so fast paced and fluid. I strongly suggest that you play it to get an idea of a platforming LoZ done right.

Also, the bosses are pretty puppers. The sub bosses homages to Phantom Ganon and Dark Link, which you can fight in either order, while the major boss is a Gohma homage. Everyone, go play this NOW!

How do you know it's bad if you haven't even played it, nor have seen anything related to the finished product? o.O

Also, I'm not going to continue on this. I've run out of ideas (Like Strawberry predicted) and I suck at drawing so it would be a big problem since I'd have to rely on other people's sprites/graphics, and those are not always available.

  2. Do you have an idea for the villain yet?

    Nop.

Well, here are some ideas for gameplay, tell me what you think about them:

    -Wall Jumping

-Changing the shield's angle when blocking like in OoT

    -Climbing ledges

-An exp system like Zelda 2's

    -Fall damage

  3. Are you making the sprites yourself? Or where are you getting them from?

Link's sprite was a custom one I found on The Spriter's Resource.

Navi's sprite is from Four Swords I think. (I don't think it's Navi, I just called it that because it's blue lol.)

  4. I guess I could throw out some story suggestions, but did you have anything in mind? Any kind of archetype or something?

Um not really, lol. All I have decided so far it's that it's going to have TP styled graphics.

I have some ideas like using the mouse to slash but I'm not sure if that could be implemented. (Might be horribly hard to control with.)

  5. http://z-up.net/uplo...screenshot2.PNG

Progress on the title screen. (Don't worry, I'll change that ugly logo.)

That title screen will gtfo, I'll make a new one when I have the main game finished.

    http://z-up.net/uplo...reenshot4_1.png

    Progress on the game engine.

    What's done so far:

    - Jumping

    - Walking

    - Annoying Navi that follows you around

    - Rupee counter

    - Life counter

    It'll be in a Zelda 2 style. (2D Platformer)

I need ideas for the story, and the title.

  6. Hey this is jolter1. I had to make a new acount cause i forgot my password for the jolter1 and the email i had for it doesnt work any more.

Here is what i have so far on chapter 2:

    Chapter 2: The Awakening

When Link and Zelda heard what Mato had to say, Mato disapeared. The ground started to shake again. Everyone that was inside the castle ran out, afraid of what has happened. "Link," says Princess Zelda, "We must get to the Forest and place Lalo's sword in the shrine. That might help us get closer to where Mato sent the King."

Link and Zelda set off for the Forest that lies to the West of the Castle. "Wait!" said Zeld. They stop in front of a gate known as the Castle Gate. "I don't think those guards are letting anyone out. Lets go to the Prison. I know a way to the Forest from there." They head towards the Mountains on the right of them and went to the Prison.

"The Prison is abandoned." stated Princess Zelda, "All of the monsters that were kept there vanished after Malo was sent to the Great Beyond. Now that he is out we might have to use it again." They enter the Moutains and take a passage through. When they got out they were in a dessert. Ahead of them was the Prison. The round shape and rough stone walls of the Prison was the design from Lalo. "It will be hard to get to the top. I am sure that some of the stairs have gone. I just hope that the item that is hidden within is still there. It will help us get to the top if we run into any broken stairs."

The doors to the Prison were not far ahead. Above them rested the sacred cest of the Triforce. The Triforce is a sacred relic left by the three Godesses Din, Nayru, and Farore once they were done creating Hyrule. The Hyrulians worship the Triforce. During Link's last adventure, he was tricked by Ganondorf and led him to where the Triforce was hidden. When Ganondorf touched the Triforce, it broke into three pieces. Ganondorf was left with only one part of the Triforce, the Triforce of Power. Another Piece went to a boy, Link, who lived in the Forest and a Princess, Zelda, who lived in the Castle. Link and Zelda sealed Ganondorf away within the void of the Evil Realm. Seeing this crest brought back Link's memories from then.
