no, not really. if i recall, the bartimaeus trilogy was finished before the first harry potter came out, or atleast the first of the trilogy was. and it's better then all of the harry potters combined. same with the dark elf trilogy, but i'm not sure if that came before or after harry potter xD

Ah. I agree. But it came BEFORE all those other ones. So it's better than them. It's just an overall good book/movies series, funny too. You're the first person I met that doesn't like it XD That I know of...

because people give it too much credit it for what it deserves. i've read many more books that are way better then harry potter, and they aren't nearly as popular. and harry potter just follows the same story line nearly every novel nowadays follows. :/
