We Are Open! Send In Your Applications. Only Serious RPers Need Apply. This Will Be A Long Term RP

Welcome!

This, brave adventurers, is where we start our story..

Where the journey starts is in the Kingdom of Northhaven ruled under ancient scepter of the middle-aged King Herald. It's a vast land that stretches from green and majestic forest, large and precarious marsh land and miles of treacherous waste land at the far end of the kingdom before reaching the border connecting it with it's cold and indifferent neighbors in the Kingdom of the Eastern Vale, ruled by King Parth.

Many kinds of people live and thrive within the kingdom, most of the populace living in the greener parts that rest on the rolling green hills to herd cattle and grow the necessities for a healthy country.

This is where we start. The agricultural town of Middleton. The center of the realm, the midpoint of everything and the beginning of our journey.

Middleton

This town of prosperity and simple dreams has always been the target of travelers before they make their way in any direction. Known for their overflowing generosity and good will towards a stranger, there is no question why the town does so well regardless of how much they give away to an outsider.

Today is the first day of spring and nearly everyone in Middleton knows this as the beginning of all good things. Every year on this exact day an immense and wonderful festival emerges just as the eager and beautiful flowers.

The festival is ran by nearly everyone in the town counsel. Along with this festival comes a timeless tradition that is waited for in great anticipation for many young women: the queen of spring pageant.

These women try to best each other in a number of categories which include: Beauty, Song, Knowledge and strangely enough, sheep herding. They are judged by former queens of spring and given a different prize every year. Any woman from any town, state or kingdom may enter. Each winning woman receives a wonderful mysterious award that increases in rarity as the years pass.

For people with a different kind of celebration in mind, there are also a number of eating contests, archery tournaments and a small troupe that brings a miniature stage with them to conduct an engaging play among viewers.

Now, how will you spend your warm sunny day?

Rules

1. Follow all site rules (this includes no excessive swearing (Be creative), no cybering or anything else that goes against the rules)

2. Do not kill any PCs unless given permission by both me and the person playing that character. Write the words 'Hum drum bums' above your application

3. Do not try to play somebody else's character without given permission. That includes 'Power Playing' and all those other nifty little titles for making somebody do, say or take something that they most certainly did not in their own posts. Play your OWN character and keep it at that, alright?

4. Full sentences and full words are much appreciated.

((ex: "Y 4 U dnt lub m3?" *cries* )) Please, none of that. I want the people playing to have some sort of standards.

5. Which brings me to the next rule. You write as if you're writing a part of a book or a school paper. Don't use things like ** [] ( ) and anything else to show an action. Use " " to speak. Also, write out your actions. Please write only in third person. Thanks.

6. To show you read the rules, Please write the word "Ninja" at either the bottom, the top or worked somewhere in your application when you post.

7. Please write at LEAST one paragraph per post!

8. Make age appropriate characters. Not everyone should be the same age. No teenage characters. Adult characters are easier to see traveling around long distances and doing all the things that we will be doing eventually.

The Races

Human- Homo sapiens. The most typical hair color in this world is brown and eyes will more commonly be brown as well, but many variations will occur in both hair, eye and skin color. Skin color and height varies through different regions and kingdoms. Warmer climates will carry darker pigment in these humans, colder more often than not carries fairer skin color. What one would expect form the male of the species is an average height of about six foot, and bones of these typically non-magical creatures are thicker to withstand more damage before breaking, but not much. Females of this race are more often than not going to be shorter than their male counterparts, which happens in all of the races of this world. Usually, the female will grow to about five foot six, but like the males, have been known to be shorter and taller.

They love colonies and very seldom travel on their own, seeking strength in numbers while making any sort of trek outside their villages and cities. While the majority of this race is non-magical, there have been some known to conjure a few spells up, but it is not an easy thing to accomplish and takes much longer for this race to learn these spells. Once they do, however, they will very, very seldom forget them.

Humans show a greater endurance in the wilderness than Hobbits, but that is only because they think ahead a bit longer than the smaller child-like race. As seldom as it may be, a human can live to about eighty years of age of they do not fall to disease, starvation of murder first. Eighty is an honor for many to reach.

Elf- Tall, thin, and live longer than any hobbit, dwarf or man. Nobody has ever lived long enough to know how long a elf can live, but many have been told by this race that the longest they have ever known one of their kind to live was nearly five hundred human years. The equivalent would be nearly one hundred sixty seven elven years. This means that for every elven year, three human ones would have to pass. Elves usually have slightly longer and thinner faces than that of a man, small pointed ears, and slightly larger eyes than that of a human. The eye and hair color of an elf is commonly a toss-up between blond and brown, the least common color being red. Eyes are most commonly blue for this race. The weapon of choice is widely known to be a long bow and steel-tipped arrows. Of course, an elf has been seen defending himself with a short sword, but they prefer to have range over their opponent, not wanting to leave themselves open to breaking bones that are oh so easy to crack.

Elves are some of the more magical creatures, and while they live quite a long time as opposed to everything else in the realm it is easy for them to forget spells, because it takes a shorter amount of time to learn them in the first place. This leaves the elves vulnerable if they forget a particular spell while in a moment of need for it. They may witness quite a few things in their long age, but that does not mean that they will remember all of it. They age slowly, but obviously do not stay looking like a small child or young adult their whole lives. Five hundred years in human years takes a toll on these strange beings, getting nearer to five hundred human years shows just how old they truly are, every wrinkle, sun spot, possible blindness, poor hearing, weak joints and sagging stretchy skin doesn't simply skip over them. Elves are hard to find, but when they are found they are known to enjoy being in solitude in the forests and cloaked at the feet of misty mountains.

Commonly, these beings can reach six foot, but like every other race, have been known to reach higher or lower than normal.

Troll- Tall, ugly, thick bodied and slow in mind, it is easy to tell what this race is good at. Smashing what they can and taking what they want. usually the only things they enjoy are jewels and gold, anything that sparkles in the sunlight really. A troll is known to keep quite a bit of treasure in it's den and will usually only travel in a small pack of three. It is unknown exactly where they keep their offspring, since researched groups of trolls have never been seen with their offspring either in or out of their dens. The dens they stay in are usually close to large rivers so they can fish or hunt down foolish fishermen that travel alone, usually they take over old bear caves as their own, more often than not eating the bears who inhabited them first. Trolls reach the tallest of them all, making it to a staggering eight foot tall, but horrifically, have been known to be taller.

The girth of one of these beasts (it is rather hard to tell the males and females apart, as they both look and sound the same and will wear the same garb) varies. Some will be large in mass, while others will merely be wispy in appearance. Usually, their skin is a grayish green color, they faces are very long, jaws jutting forward, and brows almost like shelves to cover their beady brown eyes. They have been seen with full heads of hair (commonly brown or black), as well as with eyebrows and facial hair, but the usual is a bald or balding troll with no hair on it's face. The theory behind no hair on their faces is that trolls will sit in front of a fire very closely and singe the hair right off their faces while cooking whatever they caught to consume. While trolls themselves have not been known to record he lifespan of their kind, outside sources who have studied this group for some number of years have found that, if their thick headed ways don't kill them and neither does disease, their life styles usually allow them about sixty years at a maximum age limit.

The majority of trolls are big and stupid, but a small minority of it's people have actually shown problem solving skills, they have been seen to shoot a bow and arrow and slash with a long sword, but will commonly be seen carrying a large wooden club to bludgeon enemies with.

Hobbit- Known widely outside the RP world as Tolkien's creatures. Commonly only reach a height of four foot, but have known to be taller at nearly five feet. Live in burrows and commonly are more likely to get fat before they would get fit, on account of all of the meals they have during a typical day, which would be six. Like humans, it's more common to meet a hobbit with brown hair and brown eyes, but variations have been taken into consideration. While some have houses above ground, there are more of these creatures that find comfort under ground in their hobbit holes, round windows and doors are more of a culture than anything else. They have been known to reach the ripe old age of one-hundred and feel that while it is a marvelous age to reach, want to outdo each other and try to live longer than their rivals. It's more of a status symbol to them instead of a personal badge of honor like it is for the human race. Their bodies, if not round and flabby, resemble bodies of small children, as well as their faces that carry a healthy rosy blush in round little cheeks. A hobbit will seldom leave it's burrow or small town, and it is looked down upon to seek any type of adventure outside of their small world. The reason for this is because hobbits, like elves, are commonly more thin boned creatures and don't do well when fighting against something bigger and stronger than themselves. They only leave on trips if it is absolutely necessary and don't make long their time away from their comfort zone.

Of course, there is always a hobbit that is a wild hare out of the bunch that seeks trouble for himself.

Dwarf- It is seldom you will find a dwarf above ground unless he is hunting for food, patrolling the grounds outside of his city's mines, or selling special treasures that come from inside of those mythical caverns. Dwarves are short and hearty in build, all of them toting a long, thick beard. A dwarf without one is teased to his wit's end and is viewed less of a man without one. The typical height of a dwarf commonly reaches to about five feet, being taller than that for this race is very rare, and while those outside of the mines would find being taller an advantage, being smaller is what is key while working down in cramped mines. The females of this species have facial hair as well, but do not grow such thick or long beards as their male counterparts. Besides smaller amounts of facial hair, their long dresses and voices often give away which side of the genders they are on. Dwarves have some of the thickest bone structure, and while small, can take quite a few good hits before their bodies become broken. While one wouldn't expect a dwarf to be an exceptional marksman, they can be very good with a longbow, usually preferring the crossbow and bolts over a thin bow and arrows.

You can find dwarves traveling alone or in pairs when they are outside of their underground cities. These people are quite robust and like to challenge themselves against the elements. Whether this is wise or not matters not to them.

Hair and eyes for dwarves are a wide range, but most that have ever been seen are noted to have red faces that are adorned with light brown or golden beards with beady blue eyes. These small sturdy men are known to live up to seventy years of age, but they have been known to boast that they can live until two hundred ten. Evidence of this is unseen.

Application Form

Username:

Name:

Gender:

Age:

Race: (besides human you can be an elf, troll, drawf,or halfling. Just to not make things more complicated as far as social interaction, nobody will start off as a vampire or werewolf. They may change much later on when the opportunity arises in the game.)

Weapons: Think VERY basic. Daggers, bow and arrow, long sword. for others, a hammer, ax, club. No enchanted or fantasy weapons! We'll come upon those during the game soon enough.

Personality: Just something very brief to tell how they act around others.

History: A brief description of what their life was like up until now. Please, nothing TOO tragic. Overly tragic characters never play well with others. Also, please don't make a character that is Earth specific, such as a character who is Japanese when there obviously is no japan. I don't mind if you give your character a foreign name, just don't have them to run around saying they're from Sparta, or that they are a gladiator for the Cesar. If you aren't sure about what would be allowed and what would be ridiculous, just ask me.

Physical description: What do they look like? You may also add a picture, but you still need a small description beneath the picture. Possibly of about a sentence or two, since unless you drew the picture yourself for that character or had somebody else draw it for you, that picture won't tell us exactly what you look like.

What's Going On?

The Festival of Middleton! Come one and all and let your hearts be light!

World Map

The map so far. More locations will be added once we travel over them on account of so many different locations in the game. If you'd like a spot put onto the map or want to know the name of a typical hometown from which your character would emerge from, just ask and I'll give you that information. I honestly just want to avoid the clutter of having all of the little towns and landmarks scribbled down.

Excellent Sword Fighting Videos

An interesting fact: you can grab the blade of a sword or dagger and not cut your hand. The only trick is to not let the blade slip in your fingers from your grip. If the blade slips, you'll get cut.

I know... Me, I just don't do original RPs often, but I might make a char for this when I'm more awake...

I can't believe mine even took off. I usually struggle with leading RPs.

I still sort of want to run this, but I have yet to find a good group of people interested. If anybody wants to apply still, feel free. I'd like at least three races when we start. If we can get all five, that'd be splendid!

Hum drum bums

Why hasn't anyone signed up for this?

Username: Corrupt One (CO, Carbon_Monoxide)

Name: Nikolai Selta

Gender: Male

Age: 25

Race: Human

Weapons: Quarterstaff

Personality: Nikolai has always been quiet, lost in thought. He can come off as quite cold to some but to others he seems to open up like a flower in spring. He will attack if threatened, but other than that he would never harm another living thing.

History: Nikolai is from a village high in the Ice Cap Mountains. As the youngest of a family of four, he was sent at an early age to be an apprentice to a monk. Though he never surpassed the master in his 23 years of training, he was nonetheless prepared enough to take on the final challenge- survive in the wilderness of the mountains for a year. He managed to survive, but stumbled into town after his time with hypothermia and slight malnutrition. Guess he wasn't so prepared after all. He spent the next year recovering, and decided that while he couldn't survive in the mountains, perhaps he could do better elsewhere.

Physical description: Fair skinned with light blonde hair, which is eternally in a state of disarray. His eyes are grayish blue, sometimes described by those who knew him as "colder than the tips of the mountains". His clothes are simple, nothing more than a thin gray woolen shirt and brown leather pants.

(It took me somewhere around 2 hours to make sure this sounded right to me, hope it works with you and other people join.)
